As a devoted gamer, I’m thrilled about the upcoming live-action adaption of Life Is Strange. And let me tell you, none other than Charlie Covell, the brilliant mind behind “The End of the Fing World,” seems like the perfect fit for this project.
This darkly humorous British series explores the dynamic between two troubled teenagers; one is on a path of rebellion that leads them to run away from home, while the other is devising ways to attempt murder on the character.
It appears that the scribe might be well-suited for Life Is Strange, a collection of stories revolving around teenagers navigating unusual circumstances.
The upcoming show is set to stream on Amazon Prime, and it’s worth noting that Dmitri M. Johnson, Mike Goldberg, and Timothy I. Stevenson, as part of Story Kitchen, are all contributing as executive producers.
A statement from Story Kitchen, as exclusively revealed by Variety, says:
For over a decade, Story Kitchen has held the conviction that ‘Life Is Strange’ transcends the boundaries of a mere game; it serves as a significant cultural landmark. Now, we are proud to collaborate with Amazon MGM, Square Enix, LuckyChap, and our talented showrunner/writer Charlie Covell, to bring this cherished narrative to life in an innovative way outside the gaming realm.
It’s likely that the upcoming TV series will primarily explore the relationship between Max and Chloe, a key aspect of Life Is Strange that continues to stand out as its most compelling feature.
The most recent installment in the Life Is Strange series, titled Life Is Strange: Double Exposure, has drawn a range of responses from its fanbase – largely because of how it tackled events from the original game.
In my review, I admittedly expressed some disappointment by stating, “The series seems to have strayed from its roots,” receiving a score of 6 out of 10. Despite the rich history of the franchise being built upon captivating characters, this assessment might come across as a bit harsh for a series that’s always captivated us with its distinctive personalities.
