The Hardacres season 2 exclusive first-look trailer shows off transformative new episodes

Get ready for more Hardacres! TopMob has just released the first trailer for the show’s second season.

This 5-part drama, adapted from the novels by C.L. Skelton, tells the story of a family’s journey from poverty to wealth in the 1890s.

The latest footage shows the Hardacre family adjusting to their newfound wealth after escaping poverty, all while dealing with the changes happening in 1895.

The video offers a first glimpse of the family’s new enemy, Lady Imelda Hansen, who is portrayed by Michele Dotrice of “A Very British Scandal.”

She wants to punish the Hardacres publicly, sending a message to anyone who tries to use money to gain social status. She believes this family needs to be stopped.

Claire Cooper and Liam McMahon will return as Mary and Sam Hardacre in the second season, with Julie Graham again playing Mary’s mother, Ma.

Adam Little, Shannon Lavelle, and Zak Ford-Williams are returning as the Hardacre children – Joe, Liza, and Harry – and several other familiar actors will also be back, including Holly Sturton, Cathy Belton, Owen Roe, Ingrid Craigie, and Sarah Agha.

I’m so excited about the new cast members! Along with Dotrice, Niall McNamee, who I loved in ‘Saipan’, will be playing Edward Blackwood, and Edward Mitchell, recognizable from ‘Justice League’, is joining as Arthur Lewis. I think they’ll both be fantastic additions!

Okay, so Season 2 looks like it’s diving into some really interesting territory. We see Mary and Sam finally enjoying the fruits of their labor, really leaning into a life of comfort and new possibilities. But it’s not all sunshine and roses – their kids are starting to figure out who they are, and it seems like those paths might not align with what their parents envision. Mary’s taking on a really admirable cause, pushing for education for the working class, while Sam’s focused on growing the business, but he’s clearly worried about the economy and whether their son, Joe, is prepared to take the reins. It sounds like a lot of family drama and social commentary are brewing, and honestly, I’m already hooked!

Joe is driven to succeed, but his rash decisions could jeopardize everything. Meanwhile, Liza is healing from a heartbreak when she unexpectedly meets an attractive man, and Harry, who was planning to drop out of school, finds motivation thanks to a remarkable new teacher.

Ma develops a surprising connection with someone, and while some relationships grow stronger, others become difficult. As conflicts increase, Lady Imelda Hansen shows up at the Fitzherbert’s with a hidden and threatening plan, which compels the Hardacres to come together or face losing it all.

The Hardacres airs on 5.
