Harry and Jack Williams, creators of the latest Prime Video series titled “The Assassin,” initially gained recognition in the realm of suspenseful dramas through their successful BBC One production, “The Missing,” which aired in 2014.
The show lasted for two seasons, then transitioned into a fresh series titled “Baptiste,” focusing more on the character played by Tchéky Karyo, Julien Baptiste.
Baptiste had a run for two consecutive seasons, ending in 2021. However, since then, we haven’t seen any further seasons set within The Missing universe. Yet, creators Harry and Jack Williams hinted that it may not always remain this way.
In the setting of our interview series, The TopMob Writers’ Room, it was Jack who confessed a potential revisit to either Baptiste or The Missing in our conversation.
“Yeah, we still talk to Tchéky a lot,” Harry added. “So yeah, sort of never say never, I think.”

“You don’t want to come back for the victory lap and find everyone throwing s**t at you.”
“Why did they bring that guy back?”, Harry joked.
Jack mentioned, “Indeed, it often makes us hesitant, but we haven’t dismissed the possibility entirely. It’s been a topic of discussion for us over time, so it remains on our radar. However, currently, there are no immediate plans for it.
Over various years, shows like “The Missing” and “Baptiste” boasted prominent performances from actors such as James Nesbitt, David Morrissey, Keeley Hawes, Tom Hollander, and Fiona Shaw.
During discussions at The TopMob Writers’ Room, the Williams brothers mentioned their ongoing collaboration with Hawes on a fresh series titled The Assassin, along with updates about other projects such as The Tourist and Boat Story.
