Everyone knows Disney practically invented the full-length animated movie with Snow White way back in 1937, but it’s cool to see how other studios like Pixar and, more recently, Illumination have become huge successes too. I was looking at a list of the Top 25 highest-grossing animated films of all time, and it was really interesting – some of the movies on there surprised me, and I hadn’t even heard of a few others! There were even some I’d completely forgotten about. Speaking of success, Zootopia 2 is amazing – it made over a billion dollars worldwide in just 17 days! That’s the fastest any animated movie, or even any PG-rated film, has ever reached that milestone.
A total of 70 movies have now earned over $1 billion at the box office, including 14 animated films. Disney has been particularly successful, with five of these high-grossing films released since 2013.
