Game Pop Studio recently revealed its upcoming steampunk stealth game, They Will Come, with a new trailer shown during the Future Games Show: Summer Showcase 2026. The game is scheduled to launch on PC in July, and the trailer offers a glimpse of the gameplay.
The film They Will Come takes place in 1897, but in a reimagined world where a massive airship dominates the skies. The story centers on a young boy who faces a difficult choice: stand up to a powerful evil, even if it means losing his family. A larger war appears to be happening around him, which accounts for the military presence aboard the airship.
The main idea of the game is to move stealthily, dodging guards and enemies whenever you can. Luckily, the guards need light to see, so they carry lanterns, which conveniently let you know how likely you are to be discovered.
It appears They Will Come will include exciting action sequences where players can control a massive mech. This mech is powerful enough to destroy large groups of enemies. It’s currently unknown if the mech will be a constant companion throughout the game or a temporary boost players can find as they play.
Game Pop has described They Will Come as a cinematic platformer, suggesting that a strong story will be central to the game.
