Okay, listen up, ActRaiser fans! Inti Creates just dropped some awesome news – they’re making a new action strategy game called Kingdom’s Return: Time-Eating Fruit and the Ancient Monster. Sounds wild, right? I’m already hyped!
Okay, so basically this game is a really cool mix of building up a city and then jumping into side-scrolling fights. It actually reminds me a lot of that older game Square Enix made – the one for the Super Famicom. It’s got a similar vibe!
Here’s how the press release introduces the concept:

Kingdom’s Return: Time-Eating Fruit and the Ancient Monster is an action RPG where you embark on a quest to rebuild a destroyed kingdom. Explore 2D levels to gather resources, then use those resources to strategically construct and customize your city, all while strengthening your characters.
The game features four playable characters, each with a unique way to play. The Imperial excels in close-up fighting, while the Alchemist weakens enemies with special effects. The Wizard prefers to attack from afar, and the Zipangu is known for quick and stylish attacks.
The title’s due out on 26th April and at $14.99 it won’t exactly break the bank.
A physical copy of the game will be available in Japan, and a Limited Edition will include an art book, soundtrack CD, and a key chain. It’s currently unknown if these versions will be released outside of Japan.
We found this to be a really enjoyable experience, especially since it combines the planning of city building with exciting action gameplay.
Despite the extremely busy 2026 release schedule, this might be one worth keeping an eye on.
