Eclipse Glow Games recently shared an update on their upcoming game, Tides of Annihilation, demonstrating the impressive visuals achieved with Path Tracing. They also released a new behind-the-scenes trailer detailing their collaboration with Epic Games’ Unreal Engine and Nvidia teams to guarantee smooth performance and stability on all gaming platforms.
For instance, the Giant Knight shown in the initial trailer benefited from performance improvements. Wei Liu, a technical director at Unreal Engine China, explained that the team tested the game to identify what was slowing it down – whether it was the CPU or GPU. This led to reduced processing demands and a higher, smoother frame rate. The collaborative effort also allowed them to use Nanite technology to automatically optimize collisions and shadows within the game.
Overall, the game maintains high visual quality and smooth performance even with complex elements like the Giant Knight visible. In addition to previously announced features like DLSS and Path Tracing, the developers have been working closely with Nvidia to analyze and improve performance, and they plan future optimizations directly within Nvidia’s drivers. Tencent, the game’s parent company, also provided technical support to help achieve this.
If you’re excited to try the game, a preview event is scheduled for this summer and everyone is welcome to sign up! The developers will share more information on their social media channels, so keep an eye out for updates.
