Tina Knowles is crazy in love with her granddaughter’s Met Gala debut.
Following her 14-year-old daughter Blue Ivy Carter’s appearance at the yearly fundraising gala with parents Beyoncé and Jay-Z, the author of Matriarch shared how she felt watching her family attend the most important night in fashion.
Tina shared that she became emotional and cried while watching Blue Ivy on the red carpet. She explained that it reminded her of Beyoncé’s first red carpet appearance at age 15, and seeing Blue, who is 14, looking so confident and beautiful was very touching.
Emphasizing how much Blue reminds her of her superstar daughter, Tina added, “It was déjà vu.”
Tina was also impressed by Blue’s outfit—a cream-colored dress and jacket paired with sunglasses—and it wasn’t the only fashion highlight of the event.
Tina enthusiastically described a white dress worn by Yu-Chi Lyra Kuo, calling it her absolute favorite. While she liked many outfits, this one stood out to her.
She also loved Rihanna’s shimmering metallic Margiela gown and Anok Yai’s stunning hooded Balenciaga dress.
And, of course, her family truly stole the show.
Beyoncé co-hosted this year’s Met Gala with Nicole Kidman, Venus Williams, and Vogue editor Anna Wintour, and she definitely made an impression. She wore a stunning, crystal-covered dress designed by Olivier Rousteing, inspired by a skeleton, complete with a long feathered train and a sparkling headpiece.

Meanwhile, Jay-Z stepped out in a sleek black tuxedo.
Everyone was watching Blue as she entered the Metropolitan Museum of Art for the very first time, making her debut as the museum’s princess.
Beyoncé told Vogue it felt unreal having her daughter there. She described her daughter as beautiful and expressed how wonderful it was to share the experience with her, emphasizing how amazing she looked.
