Top 7 Anime Crossovers, Ranked

Anime is full of surprising moments, and one of the most fun is when characters from different shows meet! Whether it’s through special episodes, movies, or even video games, fans love seeing these crossovers. There are actually a lot of them out there, but we’ve picked the seven best and ranked them for you. Here’s our list of the top anime crossovers that are definitely worth checking out.

7.) Jump Force

Despite being removed from digital stores, Jump Force deserves recognition for its ambitious story. The fighting game successfully brought together iconic characters from popular anime like One Piece, Naruto, and Dragon Ball. Some of the most surprising moments included seeing characters like Light Yagami and Ryuuk from Death Note searching for the Dragon Balls, or Yugi Moto battling Dio from JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure. While a unique crossover, it wasn’t quite as impactful as some others.

6.) Gundam Vs. Hello Kitty

Okay, so Jump Force was already pretty crazy, but the crossover with Mobile Suit Gundam and Hello Kitty? Seriously, it blew my mind! I wasn’t just expecting Hello Kitty to appear in the Gundam world, but she actually got a massive power-up! She grew to be as big as the Gundams themselves, and then they had this epic space battle! It wasn’t a whole series, just a special, but it totally embraced what made both franchises awesome, and it was hilarious to watch. You really have to see it to believe it!

5.) It’s a Rumic World

To celebrate its 50th anniversary, “Weekly Shonen Sunday” created a special treat for fans: a short film bringing together characters from the manga of Rumiko Takahashi. The hilarious crossover features characters from Inuyasha, Ranma 1/2, and Urusei Yatsura all appearing together, paying tribute to each popular series. Though the film is less than five minutes long, it was a fantastic glimpse of how these worlds could connect. Because the crossover takes place earlier in the timeline, the character Mao doesn’t appear, but hopefully, all of Takahashi’s creations can meet in a future celebration.

4.) Infini-T Force

The 2017 anime series Infini-T Force brought together classic heroes from Tasunoko Production, like Gatchaman, Casshan, Tekkaman, and Hurricane Polymar. While the show uses computer-generated animation, which some viewers might not prefer, it tells a compelling story about how these heroes cross paths. Even if you’re not familiar with these older anime series, Infini-T Force is still worth watching because it captures what made those heroes so popular in the first place.

3.) Cyborg 009 Vs. Devilman

As a longtime anime fan, I was so excited when Cyborg 009 and Devilman finally crossed over! These two series are legends, having debuted way back when anime wasn’t the global phenomenon it is today. This three-episode mini-series is absolutely explosive – seeing these worlds collide is incredible. While it doesn’t quite reach the level of grim darkness you often find in Devilman, the animation is fantastic and really highlights what makes both universes so special. Honestly, this crossover is a landmark event and easily deserves a spot among the best!

2.) The Dream 9 Toriko & One Piece & Dragon Ball Z Super Collaboration Special

This special Toei Animation crossover brought together some of anime’s most iconic characters from different popular series. The resulting story delivered unforgettable battles and interactions that fans still talk about today – like the epic clash between Son Goku and Monkey D. Luffy. While Toriko wasn’t as well-known as the other series involved, its inclusion didn’t detract from the overall experience. With its fun story and incredible fights, Dream 9 definitely deserves a place among the best crossovers ever made, even if it wasn’t the absolute best.

1.) Lupin III Vs. Detective Conan

The 2009 anime movie crossover featuring Lupin the Gentleman Thief and Conan Edogawa from Case Closed is a huge success for many reasons. It’s particularly enjoyable to see how different these two characters are as Conan tries to capture Lupin. The story unfolds to reveal Lupin has been falsely accused of a crime, leading them to work together. Ultimately, the movie brilliantly celebrates both iconic anime series.
