Nihon Falcom revealed that Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter is coming to PS5 on September 17, 2026, picking up where the story left off after the remake of the original Trails in the Sky. A new trailer is available to watch above.
The game is available on physical disc and digital download for the PlayStation 5. A special Collector’s Edition has been available for pre-order for a while. In Japan, the game includes a download code for a remastered version of the original Trails in the Sky, but this offer isn’t currently available in Western regions.
If you’ve finished a game on your PlayStation 5 and then start playing Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter, you’ll receive special costumes for Estelle and Joshua. These costumes are based on their appearances from the previous game, Trails in the Sky SC.

Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter picks up where the recently released remake of the first game left off – a game we gave a 9/10 score to. We praised the first game as a wonderfully remade RPG, keeping everything fans loved about the original while offering a beautifully polished adventure. It’s a fantastic entry in the series, and we recommend it to both long-time players and those new to the Trails universe.
The best is yet to come, though, as the second game is widely considered to be even better.
