John Krasinski is returning as Jack Ryan in a new movie, ‘Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan: Ghost War,’ three years after the end of the Prime Video series.
A new trailer has been released for the film, which comes out on Wednesday, May 20th, offering a sneak peek at the exciting action to come.
The trailer features the return of popular characters like James Greer (Wendell Pierce), Mike November (Michael Kelly), and Elizabeth Wright (Betty Gabriel). It also introduces new faces, including Sienna Miller (known from Layer Cake), Max Beesley (Hotel Babylon), JJ Feild (The Peripheral), and Douglas Hodge (Black Mirror).

The movie follows Jack as he’s unexpectedly pulled back into the dangerous world of spying. A secret international mission goes wrong, uncovering a deadly plot, and he’s forced to face a secretive and dangerous black-ops team – all while time is running out.
With lives hanging in the balance and the danger constantly increasing, Jack teams up once more with seasoned CIA agent Mike November (Kelly) and his former boss, James Greer (Pierce). Their combined skills are the only advantage they have against an enemy who seems to anticipate their every action.
With the surprising help of a brilliant MI6 agent named Emma Marlowe (Miller), Jack and his team find themselves caught in a dangerous world of deception. They’re forced to confront secrets from their past, making this their most challenging and emotionally charged mission yet.

I’m really excited about this film! It was written by Aaron Rabin and John Krasinski, and the whole story actually started with an idea John developed alongside Noah Oppenheim. It’s great to see their collaboration come to life.
In an interview with Collider in May 2025, Krasinski explained the movie would feature the large-scale action sequences they weren’t able to include in the TV series.
