Trust Me is a new true crime series on Netflix. It follows cult expert Christine Marie and videographer Tolga Katas as they try to help what they believe is a community in need, while also documenting their experiences.
In 2011, Warren Jeffs, the leader of the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (FLDS), received a life sentence for sexually abusing two girls who were under the age of consent.
Samuel Bateman, now convicted of sex offenses, came to their attention as Christine and Tolga learned more about the people affected by the imprisonment, which had deeply divided and unsettled the community.
Initially, Bateman was happy to be filmed, thinking Christine and Tolga were making a documentary to share his views. However, he didn’t realize they were actually collecting proof of his wrongdoing.
We didn’t initially plan to make a documentary when we first arrived,” Christine explained to Tudum. “But we witnessed things that felt important to record, and we wanted to share those stories with the community.
Every episode starts with a song that relates to the episode’s theme, and many viewers are curious about who sings it. Keep reading to learn more.

You can stream the song “Trust Me” by Lola Blanc on all major music platforms.
Blanc is Christine’s daughter, who shared a video confirming the familial link on social media.
I’m so proud of my mom, Dr. Christine Marie, and my siblings, Nomzia and Tolga, and everyone involved! I’m happy we can finally share this with you all, she posted.
Christine left a loving comment saying how wonderful and talented her daughter is, and how much she loves her.
