A new report suggests the team that created last year’s action role-playing game, Wuchang: Fallen Feathers, may have been broken up. This follows significant changes in leadership at the game’s developer, Leenzee Games.
Launching in July 2025, Wuchang: Fallen Feathers is a challenging, third-person action game inspired by the Soulslike genre. Players take on the role of Bai Wuchang, a pirate in late Ming dynasty China, who embarks on a dangerous journey to bring her younger sister back to life. Critics generally liked the game, giving it an average score of 76 on OpenCritic and a 70% recommendation rate. While the publisher, 505 Games, hasn’t revealed exact sales numbers, its parent company, Digital Bros, reported a “successful” launch with “strong physical sales” in a September 2025 financial statement.
Wuchang: Fallen Feathers Development Team May Have Been Dissolved
Even though Wuchang: Fallen Feathers received generally positive reviews and had a good launch, it appears the development team has been broken up less than a year after the game came out. According to a report from GamerSky and later covered by SavePoint Gaming, Leenzee Games dissolved the core team following a disagreement about new leadership.
Reports indicate that Xia Siyuan, the director of Wuchang, was dismissed right before the Lunar New Year in February. Some sources say he left to start his own game studio. After his departure, Leenzee Games reportedly offered the Wuchang development team the option to work on a different project within the company or assist with outsourced work. According to these reports, the team refused this offer, leading to its complete dissolution.
Leenzee Games and the developers involved haven’t confirmed or denied these reports. It’s important to remember that these are just rumors, and we won’t know the full story until someone officially speaks up. However, if the reports are accurate, it’s doubtful that Wuchang: Fallen Feathers will receive further updates or support anytime soon.
