The team behind the popular game Vampire Survivors, Poncle, just launched their new card game, Vampire Crawlers, and it’s fantastic!
But the studio has a lot more in the pipeline, 15 projects to be precise.
You might have seen a report on social media today from The Game Business stating that the studio was developing 15 games. Since then, the UK-based studio has been working to clarify that they’re actually working on a variety of projects, including downloadable content and free updates, not just 15 entirely new games.
We’re currently developing fifteen different projects, and that number isn’t just about new games. It includes things like expansions for Vampire Survivors, free updates for our games, and other titles we’re helping to publish.
After the story began spreading, we’ve seen several news sources get it wrong and issue corrections. We won’t be making any corrections ourselves, Poncle!
The company has opened small studios in Italy and Japan to increase production. They aim to keep these teams small and maintain their independent style, while still expanding their overall capabilities.
If you’re curious about how it’s funded, the game’s creator recently shared at London Games Week that Vampire Survivors has surpassed 27 million players.
They’ve also partnered with Auroch Digital, sharing the game’s technology to help them create Warhammer Survivors, set to launch on PlayStation 5 later this year.
Fans of intriguing, slightly dark indie games have a lot to look forward to. We can’t wait to see what this studio creates next.
