Okay, movie fans, get your calendars out! Last night at CinemaCon, the studio dropped some exciting news about their upcoming slate. We finally have dates for seven films, and I’m particularly thrilled to see they’re moving forward with that Ocean’s prequel starring Margot Robbie – it’s been in the works forever! Plus, a new Final Destination is officially on the way, which is always a fun ride. Definitely some dates to circle!
Warner Bros. has announced two new movies for 2027. The Revenge of La Llorona is scheduled for release on April 9th, and a new prequel to the Ocean’s series will arrive on June 25th. These films join previously announced 2027 releases including Godzilla x Kong: Supernova, F.A.S.T., Man of Tomorrow, and a sequel to Minecraft.
Warner Bros. has scheduled the release of Gladys, a prequel to Weapons, for September 8, 2028. Although Zach Cregger won’t be directing Gladys, he’ll still be involved as a producer and co-writer alongside Zach Shields, with Roy Lee also producing. Cregger is directing a separate sci-fi thriller called The Flood for Amblin, which is set to come out on August 11, 2028—a month before Gladys.
Warner Bros. Is Betting Big on Horror
Following the success of Evil Dead Rise in 2023, Warner Bros. and New Line are planning more films in the Evil Dead series. A new movie, Evil Dead Burn, is coming out this July, and another installment, Evil Dead Wrath, is scheduled for release on April 7, 2028. Francis Galluppi is writing and directing Evil Dead Wrath.
Warner Bros. has announced that Final Destination 7 will be released on May 12, 2028. The film will be directed by Michiel Blanchart and written by Lori Evans Taylor. The decision to move forward with Final Destination 7 comes after the huge success of last year’s Final Destination: Bloodlines, which earned $318 million worldwide.
Warner Bros. has added a new film to its schedule: an untitled movie about Joan of Arc directed by Baz Luhrmann. It’s set to come out in theaters on November 22, 2028. This will be Luhrmann’s first fictional film since the 2022 biopic Elvis, following last year’s documentary EPiC: Elvis Presley in Concert.
