***Warning: Major spoilers ahead for Wednesday season 2***
Anyone who dares trouble Wednesday Addams should be wary, for even she, known for her unyielding demeanor, felt a tremble in her resolve as the second season came to its climactic conclusion.
In the concluding part, Jenna Ortega’s character finds herself admitted to a hospital following a fall from a window at Willow Hill Psychiatric Hospital, on a Wednesday. Upon waking up, she discovers that Hyde Tyler (Hunter Doohan) is at large, a menacing undead creature is causing havoc in town, and her friend Enid (Emma Myers) is still under threat, with no signs of the danger abating.
In an unfortunate turn of events, Gwendoline Christie’s character, the late Principal Weems, reappears in her life, this time functioning as a spirit guide. And much to her dismay, she remains just as sharp-tongued and acerbic as before.
Before delving into the turmoil at Nevermore, it’s important to note that Principal Dort (Steve Buscemi), in a manipulative manner, is using Siren Bianca (Joy Sunday) for his underhanded tasks. He has compelled her to utilize her powers as he desires.
In other words:
Before we get into the chaos at Nevermore, let’s not forget that Principal Dort (Steve Buscemi), in a deceitful manner, is exploiting Siren Bianca (Joy Sunday) to perform his illicit orders. He has forced her to employ her powers as he commands.
In all the hustle and bustle, how did things eventually conclude? Here’s a recap of the final episode – and its implications for what lies ahead.
Did Wednesday save Enid?
The prophesied death of Enid on Wednesday has been averted, all thanks to an ingeniously mischievous body-swapping spell cast by none other than the enigmatic Rosaline Rotwood, who goes by the name Lady Gaga.
Experiencing life from each other’s perspective for a day gave them insights into the challenges they faced. On Wednesday, it became clear that Enid was not just a werewolf, but an Alpha – a status that historical precedent suggests could lead to lifelong solitude and perpetual wolf form.

In a bid to assist Enid with managing her abilities, Ms. Capri (Billie Piper) extends a helping hand. However, when Wednesday finds herself in peril later on, Enid undergoes a transformation to gather the necessary strength for rescue. Caught up in this event, she decides to retreat from Nevermore, seeking solitude to prevent any potential harm to others.
What happened to Principal Dort?
As I sat down to watch this intriguing film, little did I know that our seemingly benevolent Principal Dort was orchestrating a far more sinister scheme. It turns out he’s not just a puppet master, but a cunning imposter, even pulling the strings behind the Morning Song cult that had entangled Bianca and her mother. In a shocking twist, it’s revealed that Principal Dort had hired an actor to play the charismatic leader, Gideon.
When “Gideon” deviated from the planned scenario, sparking a global manhunt, Dort quickly adapted, settling at Nevermore, and devised an alternative income source. Leveraging Bianca’s assistance, he was shielded by a unique pocketwatch that rendered him impervious to enchantments issued by sirens.
On Wednesdays grandma Hester (Joanna Lumley) revealed plans to give away all her wealth to him and Nevermore, but Hester felt uneasy about this and questioned Bianca. Bianca eventually confessed the truth, but in an attempt to protect her mother, she asked Wednesday to forget their conversation. However, our shrewd lady-of-sorrows had a contingency plan – her elusive new friend Agnes (Evie Templeton), who remained hidden and later repeated back to Wednesday what Bianca had told her.

As a cinema aficionado, I was privy to a clever scheme on Wednesday evening, one that aimed to rescue us all. At the grand event, Agnes and Enid gracefully danced, serving as a smokescreen for Enid’s stealthy move: while unseen, she pilfered Dort’s watch. Later in the show, Bianca shared the stage with Dort, accompanied by Morticia and Hester. In an instant, her mesmerizing charisma forced him to publicly acknowledge his wrongdoings before the entire student body.
What a way to go.
Who was Slurp?
Initially, Pugsley’s zombified pet Slurp brought about humor in the first segment of the story. However, as we moved into the second part, Slurp transformed from a comical character into a cunning and ruthless figure, much like his deceitful self when he was still alive.
Isaac Night is a scientific genius who crafted a clockwork heart for himself and developed the LOIS machine at Willow Hill, which drains external powers from non-residents. He is, in fact, Francoise’s brother, Tyler’s mother, whom Wednesday assisted in escaping from Willow Hill.
Isaac intends to finish what he’s begun by eating brains to regain his previous form and reconnect with Francoise and Tyler. His fixation on eradicating the ‘curse’ that plagued his sister so miserably allows him to disregard anyone else who might get hurt in the process.

30 years ago, when Isaac attended school, Gomez (Luis Guzman), his roommate and closest friend, had electrical abilities. He willingly assisted Isaac with an experiment. However, Isaac exploited their friendship by drawing on Gomez’s powers to make his machine function, inadvertently depleting them and bringing him close to death.
Fortunately, Morticia swiftly intervened, saving her partner by amputating Isaac’s hand, halting his experimental work, which unfortunately led to an explosion in Isaac’s lab. The explosion proved fatal for Isaac, and he was laid to rest beneath the Skull Tree, a secret not to be shared anymore.

In the explosion, surprisingly, the hand came back to life and is now recognized by all as Thing, who frequently assists Wednesday without a body.
OR
In the blast, it turned out that the hand got reanimated, now widely known as Thing, who accompanies Wednesday in criminal activities without a physical form.
At the Nevermore Gala, I seized the opportunity to snatch Pugsley, intending to utilize his electric charge for my daring experiment. My decision left the rest of the family reeling with worry as they scrambled to rescue him before it was too late.
How does season 2 end?
Isaac, Francoise, and Tyler collaborate to prepare for a process aimed at removing Francoise’s Hyde powers -and it appears that the plan is almost successful, even leading to the defeat of Wednesday by entombing her beneath the Skull Tree, and affixing Thing to Isaac’s physique, thereby completing him once more.
Making my way to Isaac’s classroom at school, I find myself in an unexpected situation – strapped into an electric chair. However, Tyler seems taken aback, as he’s the one being restrained instead, set for a procedure that leaves him startled. An unexpected turn of events, as his mother makes a decision to rescue him, stating it’s “now too late for her”.
Tyler doesn’t feel the need for a cure, preferring to continue in his current state as a Hyde. However, his mother’s instructions for him to comply with her wishes fall on unresponsive ears.
Despite wanting to stay as he is (a Hyde), Tyler isn’t interested in being cured, but his mother’s demands to follow her orders are disregarded by him.
Both of these options aim to preserve the original meaning while making it easier and more natural to read for English speakers.

On Wednesday, liberated by shape-shifters Enid and Agnes (who happened to be werewolves), arrives to turn the tide. With the entire Addams Family in tow, she steps up to rescue the day. Meanwhile, Tyler pleads with her to end his life, but instead, she frees him, enabling him to morph into Hyde and clash fiercely with his mother, who too had transformed. The fight concludes tragically as Francoise plunges from the school rooftop.
Isaac, deeply upset after losing the one person he cherished, breaks down emotionally and becomes unapproachable by the family. However, an unexpected twist unfolds as Thing, allied with the Addams, turns against Isaac. With a swift move, Thing assaults Isaac, ultimately ripping out his mechanical heart, thus ending his life, before disengaging himself and rejoining his original family.
What comes next?
Embarking on a heartfelt mission of reunion, I, Wednesday, immediately set forth on plotting my summer escapade once my beloved family was securely united. My focus now shifts to finding Enid, trapped in her Alpha wolf form, venturing perilously close to the Canadian borderline.
Of course, there was just one individual she’d turn to for aid on this risky road journey: her Uncle Fester. Climbing aboard the passenger seat of his moped, they sped away from Nevermore, leaving a trail behind as Wednesday now carried Aunt Ophelia’s diary with her.

Meanwhile, trouble has started back home for Tyler. He’s discovered by Ms. Capri at his parents’ gravesite. She offers him a pack of Hydes, implying he’ll no longer require a master. Intrigued, he inquires about the guarantee, and she discloses her father was a Hyde. Impressed, Tyler consents and they depart for an unknown destination together.
Simultaneously, it’s unveiled that Hester has secretly kept Morticia’s sibling, Ophelia, concealed in a hidden cell beneath her residence.
The message she’s scrawling on the wall? Wednesday Must Die.
