
Whitney Leavitt is closing the curtain on The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives.
The 32-year-old actress announced she will be leaving the Hulu series after appearing in four seasons. She made the announcement during her last performance as Roxie Hart in the Broadway musical Chicago, and her representative confirmed the news to Deadline.
Whitney announced the news on Sunday’s show by pretending to read a newspaper headline, as shown in a video posted by TMZ.
She pointed to a newspaper and asked, “What’s this?” She read aloud, “‘Whitney… let me see. Whitney Leavitt is leaving The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives.‘”
After the announcement, the crowd erupted in cheers. The former Dancing With the Stars contestant then turned and spread her arms wide, acknowledging the enthusiastic response.
Whitney’s announcement follows previous suggestions that she was thinking about leaving the show Mormon Wives to pursue other interests.
She told The Hollywood Reporter in a March 16 interview that she and others are still working through things as they go. She added that while they’re collaborating on solutions, it seems like they’re heading in a particular direction.
The mother of three—Sedona, 6, Liam, 4, and Billy, 17 months—who shares her children with her husband, Conner Leavitt, made it clear that the reality show is what started her career in entertainment.
She explained that while she was grateful for the opportunity, she felt ready to pursue other goals and passions she’d had even before the show began. She wanted to challenge herself in new ways and finally make those dreams a reality.

When season six was decided to be the show’s last, she returned for the final episode to give her character, Amy, and Jonah (Ben Feldman) a satisfying conclusion.

In the 2019 finale of the Syfy series The Magicians, Jason Ralph’s character, Quentin, successfully saved Eliot (played by Hale Appleman), but died in the process. Although the show often features characters dying – it is called The Magicians – Ralph did not reprise his role in the show’s fifth and final season.
