Why Chase Stokes Says the Outer Banks Cast Is Ready For Series End

The crew in OBX is ready for what’s next.

Chase Stokes recently revealed that he and his Outer Banks co-stars, including Drew Starkey and Madelyn Cline, aren’t upset about the show finishing with its fifth season.

Chase told People magazine on December 27th that they were glad the experience was over and hoped the conclusion would be positive. They said, “We’re thankful for the run, and we’re ready to be done. We want the story to end on the right note.”

Okay, so Chase Stokes – seriously, Chase Stokes – was talking, and he just GETS it, you know? He said it was smarter to wrap up ‘Outer Banks’ while it was still amazing, instead of dragging it on and on until they were chasing aliens in season nine or something ridiculous! Like, YES, Chase! You’re a genius! It’s perfect the way it is, and he knows it. I’m so glad they didn’t ruin it!

As he put it, “We want to cut the cord before we lose the plot.”

Although the next season of the show won’t be released until next year, Chase has already finished filming his scenes with the main group, as production is complete.

He said he felt incredibly grateful, explaining that he’d achieved so many of his career goals that he’d expected to spend the next four decades working towards them.

Even though Madelyn and Chase dated from 2020 to 2021 after first meeting on the show, she’s said the series still felt like a comfortable and supportive environment, even while they were breaking up.

In a 2023 interview with People magazine, she explained that their goal has always been to improve the show with each season. She also emphasized that the cast and crew of Outer Banks remain close-knit and professional, like a family.

Madelyn and Chase, both of whom later dated Kelsea Ballerini for two years before their own relationship ended earlier this year, also had a difficult time dealing with the fallout from their very public breakup.

Looking back, Madelyn admitted she didn’t fully grasp the consequences of sharing such a personal part of her life with so many people. Speaking on Jake Shane’s Therapuss podcast in March, she explained she simply hadn’t realized the impact at the time, as she was deeply in love.

The former couple discovered they could use the public’s reaction to their split to fuel the romance between their characters on Outer Banks. As Madelyn explained, fans connected with both them as a couple and, even more importantly, with the characters John B. and Sarah.

Outer Banks’ final season is just one series to add to your watchlist, keep reading for more…

They’re traveling to places like the Philippines, Belize, Turkey, and Australia to see if their online connections can become long-term commitments.

These couples are taking a leap of faith, united by love but facing obstacles like long distances, uncertainty, and very different backgrounds. I was completely shocked when Studio Bleu unexpectedly shut down! Thankfully, Glo is determined to rebuild, and she’s doing it as ‘Project X’ with her daughter, Kaeli, helping her coach. It hasn’t been easy, though. A new mom and dancer joined, and things got a little tense. But what really broke my heart was seeing how one mom’s personal difficulties ended up impacting the entire studio so deeply. It’s been a tough time for everyone involved.

As a lifestyle expert, I’m excited to share that the second season really dives deep into the world of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish football team. I’m such a fan of Chip and Joanna Gaines, and their new series, Fixer Upper: Colorado Mountain House, is incredible! They took on this amazing 1960s property high up in the Colorado mountains, and the challenges were totally unique to that environment. What I love is how they combined the original, cool mid-century style with beautiful European touches. They’ve created this stunning, timeless family getaway right in the Rockies, and it’s just breathtaking to watch the transformation.

That single decision sets off a series of events that threaten to shatter their families and destroy their long-standing friendship.

The new documentary tells the moving story of a Long Island family as they investigate the decades-old disappearance of their father.

In the early 1960s, George Carroll abandoned his wife, Dorothy, and their four children. Years later, the pain of his departure still affects his children.
