Will Forte Jokingly Reveals Why Olivia Modling Threatened Divorce

Will Forte’s marriage almost went out with a bang—or bangs. 

The actor known for The Four Seasons recently revealed he had a disagreement with his wife, Olivia Modling, while he was away filming a Netflix series – it all started because of her new haircut.

Forte explained on Late Night With Seth Meyers that he’d been away because his daughters, who live in Los Angeles with their mother, need to stay put. He relies heavily on FaceTime to stay connected with them, and he recently made a mistake during one of those calls.

The former Saturday Night Live cast member confessed to a quick phone call with his wife while filming a Netflix show alongside Tina Fey, Colman Domingo, Erika Henningsen, Marco Calvani, and Kerri Kenney—and it nearly caused a major problem.

“I FaceTime her, she picks up the FaceTime and has freshly cut bangs,” Forte, 55, recalled. “She has never had bangs before since I’ve known her. Did not know she was getting bangs. No words were spoken until I said, ‘What happened to you?’ Not a great start.”

But he didn’t realize he was quickly heading into dangerous territory. 

The comedian went on, recounting, ‘And then she said ‘What?’ So I asked, ‘Is that a wig?’ To be fair, the way her bangs were styled, and because she was slightly hunched over, they didn’t look like the glamorous, full bangs you’d see on someone like Brigitte Bardot.’

Indeed, Forte thought his wife of nearly five years was testing out a Star Trek Halloween costume. 

He explained it reminded him of Spock, and it happened around Halloween. He thought maybe she was trying on a wig as part of a Spock costume for the holiday.

While Forte quickly realized his flub, it was too late to fix. 

He remembered a moment of silent realization – it wasn’t a wig. He immediately started thinking about how to react positively. Then, noticing everyone was watching him because he was on his phone during rehearsal, he quickly made an excuse and said he had to leave.

Naturally, Modling expressed that was not the way to end the call—or pick it up, for that matter. 

Forte shared that she sent her friend a series of texts asking, ‘Is that a wig?’—she really wanted to make sure the message landed. She explained it was the absolute worst thing to receive a text like that after getting bangs cut.

And though he responded laughing, Modling simply replied, “Divorce.” 

Luckily, The Last Man on Earth star assured, “We got past it.”

The actress, known for her role on Grey’s Anatomy, recounted a bizarre experience to Travel + Leisure in 2025. She explained that she was stopped for nearly an hour because of a bag of organic sunflower seeds – the kind you’d find at a high-end store like Erewhon. Apparently, the seeds triggered such a concern that the bomb squad had to be called, leaving her completely confused and wondering if it was a prank.

She wasn’t sure how much she could eat. “Perhaps just a small bite,” she said. “I don’t think I could manage a full bowl.”

During an April 2025 interview on The Jennifer Hudson Show, the singer of “Save Me” shared a particularly embarrassing story, and he didn’t hesitate to tell all the details.

“I pooped myself one time,” he admitted. “I did, I’m sorry.”

To be honest, Jelly Roll (whose real name is Jason Bradley DeFord) didn’t intend to cause such serious harm.

Honestly, I really believed he was just playing it up, that everything was fine. But then he admitted he was wrong, and it broke my heart. It was awful to witness the crowd turn on him like that – they went from cheering him on to completely shutting him out. It was a devastating change to watch.
