If you enjoy the idea of driving tanks and fighting in a World War II-inspired world, you’ve likely heard about World of Tanks: HEAT, the new free-to-play online game from Wargaming.
Good news! The game studio has announced a closed beta test from April 16th to 20th, 2026. It will be available on all consoles and PC, and you can sign up now. The game looks promising, featuring a wide range of tanks, eight different maps, and several gameplay modes focused on capturing and holding territory. You’ll team up with three other players in intense player-versus-player battles, creating a chaotic and unpredictable warzone experience.
We’ve explained before that the game’s purchases won’t impact how you play – you’ll only be able to buy things like cosmetic items. This new item looks great, but you can watch the beta test trailer below to see for yourself.
A new version of World of Tanks, called HEAT, is being developed for PlayStation 5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S. We don’t know when it will be released yet.
