Could we ever see a sequel to L.A. Noire?
Rockstar and Team Bondi’s detective game is still incredibly popular after almost 15 years, and there are small hints that it might be revived.
During a recent event in Las Vegas, Strauss Zelnick, the CEO of Take-Two Interactive, was questioned about the possibility of future development for the game L.A. Noire.
“Yes,” he said, adding “You never know.” That’s according to Game File (paywalled).
So, I was really hoping for some news, and he actually talked a bit about what the publisher is planning for all their games and characters. He basically said they are thinking about doing something with everything they own eventually, but he couldn’t share any details just yet. It’s frustrating, but at least it sounds like there’s stuff in the works!
Okay, so don’t get too excited thinking L.A. Noire 2 is definitely happening, but it sounds like Rockstar is at least thinking about it. Apparently, if we do hear anything about a new game in the series, it’ll come straight from Rockstar, not Take-Two, according to Zelnick.
The game first came out in 2011 and was very popular, selling millions of copies. However, a proper sequel hasn’t been released yet.
There was the VR Case Files spin-off for PSVR in 2019, but there’s no sign of a proper sequel.
Aaron Staton, the actor who played the main character Cole Phelps in the first L.A. Noire, stated in 2021 that he hadn’t received any information about a potential sequel.
After hearing what Zelnick said, are you optimistic about a possible L.A. Noire 2, or are you still unsure? Let us know your thoughts in the comments!
