2 Fans Get Lifetime Ban for Running on Court During NBA Finals Game 1

This stunt was a total air ball.

A fan’s risky behavior at Game 1 of the NBA Finals on June 2nd led to consequences, as the NBA has officially punished the individual who ran onto the court attempting to take a selfie with Victor Wembanyama.

According to an NBA spokesperson, the person who ran onto the court during Game 1 of the NBA Finals was arrested and will be banned from attending any future NBA games. Another person involved in the incident will also be banned for life from all NBA arenas.

With 6:28 remaining in the fourth quarter and the Knicks ahead 92-86, a stoppage brought the close game to a sudden stop.

A fan ran onto the basketball court with a cell phone and attempted to take a selfie with Victor Wembanyama and Knicks center Mitchell Robinson before security guards quickly removed him.

Victor Wembanyama, the Spurs’ 7’4″ forward-center, seemed initially unsure of what was happening when a fan approached him, beginning to smile before security intervened.

After the game, the 22-year-old admitted they had never faced that kind of situation before and weren’t sure how to react.

In fact, the incident reminded Wemby of a previous party crasher.

Honestly, it took me completely by surprise – it was a moment as shocking as the time a bat actually landed on the court! I mean, you just don’t expect things like that to happen, do you? It really stuck with me, just like that unexpected visitor did.

Back in January 2024, during Victor Wembanyama’s first season with the Spurs, a bat unexpectedly flew into the arena during a game. Luckily, the team’s mascot, The Coyote, was able to handle the situation.

Wearing a Batman costume, The Coyote finally managed to trap the opposing team’s mascot in a net on the court. This impressive move earned him loud cheers and applause from the crowd.

The Knicks and Spurs had a tight game, but the Knicks ultimately won 105-95. While the Spurs played hard, they couldn’t quite overcome New York’s performance.

The event, which thankfully didn’t involve any bats, drew a small group of celebrity attendees, including dedicated New York Knicks fans Ben Stiller, Spike Lee, and Timothée Chalamet.
