Things are heating up on Coronation Street this week, with Daniel Osbourne struggling and unfortunately starting to neglect his son, Bertie.
Okay, so things really start to fall apart for our main character after a seriously uncomfortable showdown with Megan Walsh – Beth Nixon plays her brilliantly, by the way. Then, before he can even catch his breath, he’s getting into it with his own family. It’s a downward spiral, and predictably, social services show up at his door right after. It’s a gut-wrenching moment, and you can see everything is about to change.
The investigation into the murder of Theo Silverton (played by James Cartwright) is still ongoing, and detectives are questioning a surprising local resident.
David Platt is facing new problems due to Jodie Ramsey’s continued fixation on him, while Idris Nazir is turning out to be a mysterious figure.
Here’s everything happening in Coronation Street between Monday 1 and Thursday 4 June.
8 Coronation Street spoilers for next week
1. Daniel Osbourne spirals and neglects son Bertie

Daniel is anxious about going back to work, but his son, Bertie, tries to cheer him up with a heartfelt “World’s Best Teacher” mug. Unfortunately, the sweet moment doesn’t last, as Lily Platt (Grace Ashcroft-Gardner) quickly ruins it by sharing new, hurtful posts from Truthteller2 publicly.
Things get even worse when she intentionally bumps into him in the hallway, breaking his mug. Daniel, already very upset, breaks down and cries, while Jake Windass secretly films the entire incident on his phone.
Filled with rage and sadness, he rushed into the Rovers pub hoping to forget his troubles, but Adam Barlow told Sean Tully not to serve him a drink.
Daniel, filled with anger, finds Megan at the police station and confronts her, angrily accusing her of ruining his life.

Returning home, he compulsively checked his laptop for more abusive messages online. Then, a casual remark from Jodie suddenly revealed the truth: she was the one who had been relentlessly harassing him.
Daniel exploded, blaming Jodie for causing his paranoia, depression, and insomnia while falsely acting supportive. Despite Jodie strongly denying she’s “Truthteller2,” Daniel kicked her out.
Daniel, still upset and having been drinking, unexpectedly tells everyone at the Rovers Return that she’s been stalking him, completely shocking those present. She pretends to be the one hurt and runs off crying, while he drunkenly makes his way home, unable to properly look after Bertie.

When young Bertie says he’s hungry, Daniel has already fallen asleep on the sofa – a situation remarkably similar to one involving his brother Peter Barlow and Peter’s son Simon back in 2010. Bertie, left to manage on his own, tries to make something to eat, but things quickly go wrong as smoke fills the kitchen.
The young child, scared and upset, ran into the street while Daniel didn’t notice. Because Daniel wasn’t paying attention, both Bertie and the child were in danger.
The next morning brought terrible news: the school called, concerned that Bertie hadn’t come in. He woke up, confused, and quickly realized something was wrong.

Adam and Daniel have a heated argument about Daniel’s parenting, which quickly becomes personal when Adam brings up Sinead. Daniel loses his temper and, in a moment of anger, accidentally hits his father, Ken, knocking him over.
Tracy Barlow, worried about everyone, tells Ken and Adam directly that Daniel is struggling and unable to care for himself or a child. Later, Daniel tries to make amends with Ken at home, but things get tense again when he demands that both Adam and Tracy be included in the discussion.

Ken tries to warn Daniel that he’s starting to repeat his father Peter’s harmful pattern with alcohol, but Daniel angrily walks away. However, things take a surprising turn when a social worker named Ruth Hawley shows up at his door.
2. More questions arise from Theo Silverton’s murder as a new suspect is revealed

As a long-time Coronation Street fan, I’m really worried about Todd Grimshaw right now. It’s heartbreaking watching him struggle, especially with Summer falling apart over everything that happened with Theo. When Lisa told Todd she’d spoken to Danielle, I knew things were about to get even worse. Then, to hear Summer confess she’s thinking of admitting to manslaughter… it just felt awful. She’s completely lost and doesn’t see any other way forward, and it’s destroying both of them.
Todd was devastated and later told Sarah Platt what happened. He then tried to get his phone back from the police, but Lisa’s reaction completely surprised him.
She later confides in Carla about her new boss, upset that Summer is being wrongly accused of Theo’s murder while other potential clues aren’t being investigated. Her concerns grow when Todd’s lost phone is found at a pawn shop and is sent to the lab for analysis.

The case takes an unexpected turn when Lisa arrests Brody Michaelis (Ryan Mulvey), believing he stole Todd’s phone after his fingerprints are found on it.
Sally and Tim Metcalfe are shocked as Brody insists he didn’t do anything wrong while officers arrest him. Kit Green observes the scene calmly.
3. Carl Webster is suspicious of Tyrone Dobbs

In the pub, Carl Webster (Jonathan Howard) confronts Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall), coldly pointing out how visibly scared he looks.
Convinced he is hiding something, Carl makes it clear he intends to uncover the truth.
Could Carl be onto something, or is he just causing more trouble?
4. Leanne Battersby has questions for Idris Nazir

Idris tries to impress Leanne Battersby at Speed Daal, clearly flirting with her and hinting at spending another evening together. Alya Nazir immediately cautions Leanne that she’s risking trouble by responding to his advances.
Idris treats Alya with respect and asks her to manage his legal matters. This prompts Adam to examine Idris’s paperwork to determine if he’ll accept him as a new client.
Brody seems to be doing well working for Idris, but things get tense when Dylan Wilson mentions Brody’s history of car theft involving Carl. Leanne overhears this conversation and becomes suspicious, questioning Idris about the nature of Brody’s job.
5. David Platt is guilt-ridden as Jodie Ramsey closes in

David feels guilty after arguing with Shona Platt, which leads him to seek comfort from Jodie. She uses this as an opportunity to remind him of their previous encounter, claiming he recognized her at the time – even saying her name – as evidence he wasn’t mistaken about who she was.
Even after making amends with Shona, he feels increasingly guilty, especially when Jodie keeps subtly mentioning his use of her name.

David, feeling lost and needing guidance, opens up to Maria Connor, who advises him to be honest with Shona before things get worse.
The situation gets even tenser when the family meets at the Bistro to celebrate Bethany Platt’s birthday. However, Jodie ruins the happy occasion by constantly talking about Theo’s death, creating a very uncomfortable mood.
6. Debbie Webster asks a huge favour from Glenda Shuttleworth

Debbie Webster (Sue Devaney), who is living with early-onset dementia, is starting to find it harder to manage. Knowing this, she asks Glenda Shuttleworth (Jodie Prenger) to take over leading the dementia choir when she can no longer continue.
Deeply moved, Glenda assures Debbie it would be an honour.
7. Maria Connor is quietly furious with Gary Windass

Maria mentions to someone at the salon that Sarah forgot Bethany’s birthday, but Gary Windass surprisingly steps in to defend her.
She was really surprised by his reaction, especially since this is the second time in a few weeks he’s been seen getting close to his ex-girlfriend.
Should Maria be worried, or is she behaving irrationally?
8. Sam Blakeman’s hallucinations worsen
Fiz Dobbs is trying to get Sam and Hope to reconnect. She invites Sam over for tea, hoping it will help Hope move on from her difficult relationship with Will.
Hope directly rejects Sam and confirms she is now with Will. This rejection deeply upsets Sam, and he starts experiencing hallucinations again.
Coronation Street airs weeknights at 8:30pm on ITV1 or can be streamed from 7am on ITVX.
