Jack Osbourne Details Moment He Learned of Dad Ozzy Osbourne’s Death

Jack Osbourne is reflecting on one of the most difficult moments of his life. 

Approximately a month following Ozzy Osbourne’s death on July 22, when he was 76 years old, Jack took some time to recall the instance when he discovered the legendary singer from Black Sabbath had passed away.

At about 3:45 am one morning in Los Angeles, as Jack mentions in his September 3rd YouTube video, there was a knock on his door. It turned out to be someone who has been part of his family for over three decades. Upon peeking through the window and recognizing him, Jack instantly sensed that something unfortunate had occurred.

In a heart-wrenching moment, I received the devastating news. As he put it, “I was told that my beloved father had taken his final breath.

Upon learning the news, Jack Osbourne – one of Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne’s three children, alongside Aimee Osbourne (aged 42) and Kelly Osbourne (aged 40) – experienced a tumult of emotions, particularly given that his father had passed away in England while Jack was thousands of miles away in another country.

He remembered thinking so much, a whirlwind of feelings – sadness, frustration, anger. A part of him yearned urgently, ‘I must reach there immediately.’

Additionally, Jack confessed that he felt a sense of relief knowing his father was no longer struggling with Parkinson’s disease.

Jack remarked that there was a sense of relief, as if to say ‘he’s no longer in pain.’ He found comfort in knowing he wasn’t suffering anymore, even though Jack deeply regrets his absence and wishes he were still among them. Unfortunately, he had been facing difficulties.

Regardless of fans noticing Ozzy’s deteriorating health during his final concert on July 5th, Jack (father of four girls) made it clear that no one in the family had expected to bid farewell to Ozzy this quickly.

Jack commented that nobody anticipated it would occur so swiftly, or indeed at all. It simply wasn’t something we were preparing for.

Two weeks prior to Ozzy Osbourne’s passing, Kelly quashed rumors suggesting her father was near death.

Currently grappling with the shock of his father’s passing, Jack mentioned finding solace in witnessing the unity of the community as they grieved for Ozzy.

Reflecting on the torrent of affection I’ve received lately, it’s not only heartwarming but also incredibly affirming. My father was truly exceptional, someone who touched the lives of many in profound ways.

He wrote that he loves Ozzy Osbourne, Sharon Osbourne, and their family (using the Hawaiian word ‘aloha’). He also expressed gratitude towards them. Alongside a picture of them, this message was accompanied by ‘Rest in Peace’.

The rapper expressed deep sadness upon hearing about Ozzy Osbourne’s passing, sharing that they have a long history together. It was an immense honor for the rapper to witness Ozzy being inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame last year. Sending heartfelt condolences to Sharon, his children, and the entire family. Rest In Peace.

A member of one of the most iconic rock bands in history wrote… They would dedicate their upcoming shows to Ozzy. My sympathies go out to Sharon Osbourne and the entire Osbourne family. May Ozzy rest in eternal peace, and thank you for enriching our world with your rock music.

We all admired him tremendously!

The Goonies star expressed how much he was touched by his talent, saying, ‘He was an inspiration and made a lasting impression on many. He embodied circus, theater, love, loyalty, and the everyday person’s gift.’ In other words, he resonated deeply with us, tapping into our darkest veins with his unique voice.

As an ardent admirer, I’m deeply grieved to learn about the passing of Ozzy Osbourne. The farewell concert he held at Back To The Beginning in Birmingham was nothing short of a beautiful send-off.
