The popular anime “One Piece” is continually improving its animation, but recently it has also gained momentum as a live-action series. Fans are eagerly anticipating the next installment, and Netflix’s live-action version of “One Piece” has been a big hit. Despite many live-action adaptations of anime being disappointing, this one has been an exception, and it is now preparing for Season 2 in 2026.
Moving from Logue Town to the start of the Grand Line and the Alabasta Arc in Season 2 of Netflix’s One Piece promises new adventures! It’s not just about fresh locations and obstacles, but also the arrival of numerous new characters like Crocodile, Nico Robin, Vivi, and more. Though some of these characters have been previewed in teasers for Season 2, there are still essential figures that fans haven’t met yet, and it’s crucial for Netflix’s One Piece to unveil them before the second season approaches.
10) Crocus

The second season of Netflix’s live-action adaptation of “One Piece” is preparing for launch, starting with the Logue Town Arc and venturing into the treacherous Grand Line. Here, the Straw Hats will encounter Laboon and Crocus for the first time. While viewers have already caught a glimpse of live-action Laboon in the trailer, Crocus, portrayed by Clive Russell, has not yet appeared in any promotional content. As Crocus plays a significant role and his interactions with the Straw Hats are key to the storyline, there’s much anticipation for his debut. Hopefully, we’ll see him soon!
9) Hiruluk

As an avid fan, I can’t help but get excited about the upcoming Season 2 of One Piece’s live-action! Among the many things that have me on the edge of my seat, the Drum Island Arc stands out as a particular highlight. This captivating storyline will finally unveil the Straw Hats’ emergency food supply and their beloved resident doctor, Tony Tony Chopper.
However, the Drum Island Arc would not be complete without delving into Chopper’s heart-wrenching past, a tale that involves Dr. Hiruluk, brilliantly portrayed by Mark Harelik in the live-action adaptation. To date, fans like myself have yet to witness this moving narrative unfold, and I can hardly contain my anticipation!
8) Dorry

During their stopover en route to Alabasta, the Little Garden Arc is believed to have ignited Usopp’s transformation into a valiant sea warrior in “One Piece.” This life-changing event was primarily sparked by the Straw Hats’ encounter with Dorry and Brogy. While fans have only caught glimpses of Brogy so far, shown briefly in the Season 2 trailer, we eagerly await the introduction of Dorry, who will be portrayed by Werner Coetser.
7) Kureha

Observing here, I can’t help but acknowledge the initial buzz surrounding Jamie Lee Curtis for the role. However, it’s challenging to dispute Netflix’s decision in casting Katey Sagal as Kureha, a pivotal figure in the Drum Island Arc. Beyond being Chopper’s mentor, Dr. Kureha has been instrumental in unveiling some of the series’ most significant revelations, such as the enigmatic “Will of D.” Even after a thousand chapters and episodes, she remains a character shrouded in mystery, hinting at hidden depths that I can only hope fans will get to delve into soon.
6) Wapol

Wapol, in the Drum Island Arc, plays the role of the primary villain, though not as formidable as Crocodile or other previous opponents Luffy has encountered. However, he’s far from an insignificant character. In fact, his eccentric character design and peculiar devil fruit set a unique tone in One Piece, making them challenging for the live-action adaptation. It would be intriguing to see if the series can effectively use CGI to depict Wapol accurately and if Rob Colletti’s portrayal truly captures Wapol’s reprehensible and cowardly nature. Fingers crossed that we catch a glimpse of him in an upcoming teaser!
5) The Kung-Fu Dugongs

As a die-hard One Piece fan, I can’t help but marvel at its exceptional worldbuilding that sets it apart from other series. Among the myriad wonders that make this universe so captivating is the delightful encounter with kung-fu dugongs during our journey to Alabasta. This deserted island teems with extraordinary creatures, and while each one is fascinating in its own right, none have stuck with me quite like these adorable aquatic beings.
I eagerly anticipate that the upcoming live-action adaptation of One Piece will capture this charming scene where our crew interacts with the dugongs, especially since Iñaki Godoy’s affinity for manatees seems to embody the spirit of Luffy.
4) Crocodile

Among the characters eagerly anticipated by fans in Season 2 of Netflix’s live-action “One Piece” is none other than Sir Crocodile. The showmakers certainly made an excellent choice in casting Joe Manganiello, who has already garnered support from fans through various events and promotions. What we look forward to now is seeing him embody Crocodile’s iconic slicked-back hair, scar, and cigar (although he was regrettably missing from the latest trailer). It seems plausible that the series is cultivating anticipation for a grand unveiling later on, but it remains uncertain if fans will be able to endure the wait much longer.
3) Ace

Although Ace, a character introduced in the Drum Island Arc of One Piece, has yet to have his casting confirmed by Netflix for their live-action series, and there haven’t been any trailers or sneak peeks featuring him so far. There have been whispers that Xolo Maridueña might be cast in the role, but without a definitive announcement from Netflix, it remains uncertain if fans will get to witness Ace in Season 2 at all, which could be quite disappointing.
2) Bon Clay

If you assumed that Vivi was the only potential Straw Hat character appearing in Season 2 of Netflix’s One Piece, you’d be mistaken because another significant candidate, Bon Clay, remains. Initially presented as a villain, Bon Clay later becomes an ally of the Straw Hats, captivating fans as quickly and effectively as he does the crew itself. However, similar to Ace, Netflix hasn’t confirmed the casting for Bon Clay yet, leaving uncertainty regarding his appearance in Season 2.
1) Karoo
Though viewers might have pardoned the absence of Chouchou in Season 1’s Orange Town Arc for One Piece, it would be unthinkable for Netflix’s live-action adaptation to overlook Karoo and the Supersonic Duck Squadron. The charismatic and endearing giant duck plays a vital role as Vivi’s faithful companion within One Piece, and over time has gained immense affection from fans alike. With popularity rivaling that of Chopper, Laboon, the kung-fu dugongs from Alabasta, and the lapins from Drum Island, Karoo is undeniably a cherished aspect of the series.
Netflix has provided a sneak peek of Chopper in live-action form, leaving many fans generally pleased with his representation and special effects. The question now is if Netflix’s upcoming adaptation of One Piece will be able to translate Karoo into live-action equally well, potentially making or breaking the series for some viewers. Additionally, the potential for merchandise featuring Karoo is immense, and a charming and scene-stealing duck sidekick could help draw in even more fans.
Season 2 of Netflix’s Live-Action One Piece releases in 2026.
