Tina Knowles is ready for her granddaughters to run the world.
Beyoncé’s mother has expressed her wishes for her daughters, Blue Ivy and Rumi Carter, as they begin to follow in the family’s footsteps and pursue their own paths.
Tina said she just wants her children to be healthy and happy, no matter what path they choose. Speaking to TopMob News at an event in Beverly Hills on September 18th, she explained that she’ll support them in anything they do – “even if it’s fishing” – because they’re independent individuals with their own dreams.
Tina, who shared the stage with her grandchildren and the Grammy-winning artist of “Protector” during the *Cowboy Carter* tour in May, explained, “They truly follow their own vision.”
Beyoncé, a mother to 13-year-old Blue Ivy and 7-year-old twins Rumi and Sir Carter with Jay-Z, often includes her family in her work, particularly when she’s on tour.
Tina excitedly shared that performing with them had always been a dream of hers. ‘It was so much fun!’ she added.
For the 71-year-old woman, collaborating with her daughters – including Beyoncé, 44, and Solange Knowles, 39 – has been a highlight of her career, and more than just a pleasant experience.
She said they’re the best because they’re incredibly creative and I learned a lot from them. But it’s also just fun to be around them and be a part of what they do.
Whether it was styling Beyoncé’s looks when she first rose to fame with Destiny’s Child or financially supporting Solange’s 2012 music video shoot for her song “Losing You” in South Africa, this mother has significantly influenced her daughters’ careers.
She emphasized, “They have been everything to me.”
Tina is happy to be a mentor to her grandchildren as well. She especially admired her granddaughter Blue Ivy’s creativity and drive while performing with her mother.
She’s constantly making things and loves using both her creativity and practical skills,” she shared with TopMob in March. “She’s truly remarkable.
Tina was overjoyed to see her youngest granddaughter make her singing debut on Beyoncé’s track, “Protectors,” and shared, “I’m incredibly proud of Rumi, and all of my grandchildren are wonderful.”
