And it couldn’t come soon enough.
Based on the popular sci-fi books by James S.A. Corey, *The Expanse* delivered exactly what many viewers wanted: realistic, science-driven stories with complex characters, all set in a stunning and futuristic world. The show had everything going for it – high-quality production, engaging political plots, and compelling personal stories. However, it was canceled after six seasons, and this wasn’t the first time. Originally, the Syfy channel canceled *The Expanse* after three seasons, but Amazon revived it for another three. Unfortunately, Amazon then canceled the show before it could adapt the remaining three books, leaving fans disappointed.
Good news for fans of *The Expanse*! BOOM! Studios is creating a new comic book, *The Expanse: A Little Death*, which will continue the show’s story, focusing on the character Amos Burton.
The Expanse Fans Finally Have Something New to Replace Season 7
What’s coming next? The new graphic novel picks up two years after the end of season 6, around the year 2358. It introduces Auberon, a thriving new colony within the Ring Network. According to writers Wes Chatham and Andy Diggle, the story, titled *A Little Death*, is a gritty tale of revenge, with Amos Burton taking center stage. He initially sets out looking for entertainment, but quickly reconnects with people from his past in Baltimore.
The criminal world depicted in *A Little Death* is just as harsh and disturbing as those found in the original books.
Will The Graphic Novel Meet Our Big Expectations?
It’s understandable that fans are cautious about this new comic, especially after waiting so long for more of *The Expanse* story. But rest assured, *The Expanse: A Little Death* was created with input from the show’s creators! It explores a period not covered in the novels, offering a fresh take and new stories while focusing on a fan-favorite character. What more could anyone ask for (besides a continuation of the TV series, of course)?
You can find The Expanse: A Little Death Issue #1 available at BOOM! Studios.
