Paramount+ is constantly updating its selection of movies and TV shows, and September 2025 brings another wave of new content. Recent additions include classics like *The Addams Family* and the premiere of Season 3 of *Tulsa King*. Plus, while fans eagerly await the next film in a popular horror series, Paramount+ is now streaming three of the best movies from that franchise.
Starting September 1st, Paramount+ added the first three *Scary Movie* films to its streaming library. These classic horror comedies, starring Anna Faris as Cindy Campbell and Regina Hall as Brenda Meeks, are known for playfully poking fun at popular horror films. The first two movies, directed by Keenen Ivory Wayans and written by and starring Marlon and Shawn Wayans, spoofed hits like *Scream*, *I Know What You Did Last Summer*, *Halloween*, *The Exorcist*, *Poltergeist*, and *Stigmata*. *Scary Movie 3* was the first installment without the Wayans brothers’ direct involvement, and it parodied films like *The Ring*, *Signs*, and *8 Mile*. While the later films, 2006’s *Scary Movie 4* and 2013’s *Scary Movie 5*, aren’t on Paramount+, you can watch them for free on Tubi.
Why You Should Watch the Scary Movie Films
The *Scary Movie* series is a prime example of successful horror parody. These films cleverly combine scares and humor by playfully mocking popular horror movies and clichés of the time, all within an engaging and funny storyline. While the quality dipped in later movies, the earlier installments were hugely popular and helped establish the franchise as a beloved and recognizable part of pop culture.
Just in time for spooky season, the first three *Scary Movie* films are now available to stream on Paramount+. This is great news for anyone planning a Halloween movie marathon! Plus, with *Scary Movie 6* coming to theaters on June 12, 2026, it’s a good chance to revisit the originals. Anna Faris and Regina Hall are confirmed to star in the new film, which is being written by the Wayans Brothers and Rick Alvarez. While details about the plot are still under wraps, Marlon Wayans hinted that *Scary Movie 6* might poke fun at recent horror favorites like *Heretic*, *Longlegs*, *Get Out*, *Nope*, and *Sinister*.
Other Horror Movies Now on Paramount+
Paramount+ is adding a bunch of spooky movies in September 2025! Starting September 1st, you can stream the first three *Scary Movie* films, along with titles like *I Know What You Did Last Summer*, *Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street*, *The Last Exorcism Part II*, *The Ring*, *The Woman in Black*, and *World War Z*.
September’s new streaming releases included popular horror franchises like *Blade*, *Friday the 13th*, and *Scream*, along with family-friendly Halloween favorites such as *The Addams Family* and *Addams Family Values*.
