Madison Brush is protecting her peace.
I’ve been following the Brown family for a while now, and it was really interesting to hear Christine talk about her relationship with Kody. She recently posted this powerful message about protecting your energy, and it seems like she was hinting at how she’s finally prioritizing her own happiness and well-being, even if that means distancing herself from her dad, Kody.
After a follower told Madison, 29, she was missing a certain skill, she posted a screenshot of her reply on Instagram Stories on October 10th. In the message, she explained that growing up with a father who constantly lied about her taught her that skill very quickly.
I recently addressed a question I got on Instagram Stories about whether I’ve gone to therapy to deal with my complicated relationship with my dad. It’s something a lot of people are curious about, and I wanted to be open about it.
She shared that she sees a therapist occasionally and has found it very helpful. She believes therapy could be beneficial for anyone who grew up in a complicated family.
Madison, who shares eight-year-old Axel, six-year-old Evie, two-year-old Josephine, and six-month-old Emilia with her husband Caleb Brush, recently discussed her year-long separation from Kody, 56, on their TLC show. She became emotional while talking about how distant they’ve become.
She said, crying on the show on September 28th, that she wished her father would be there and that she hoped they could make amends. She admitted she contributed to the situation and expressed her frustration with still learning how to cope with disappointment.
But as Madison navigates her feelings, she made it clear she has empathy for her dad as well.
She explained that she’s still getting to know the real him. She’s realizing he may not have known how to be there for her, and that he could be going through his own struggles.
Kody Brown, who has 18 children, recently talked about the difficult relationship he has with many of them.
He admitted on the October 5th episode of *Sister Wives* that he has difficult relationships with most of his adult children. He explained that the problems stem from hurtful comments and subtle jabs, which have damaged trust and created divisions between them all.
