The third season of *Spy x Family* is currently airing, continuing the adventures of Loid, Yor, and Anya. Though the series is often lighthearted and funny, it doesn’t shy away from serious themes. A recent preview suggests the upcoming episodes will delve into Loid’s difficult past – a storyline manga readers know is quite intense. *Spy x Family* fans should be prepared for some mature and potentially upsetting content in the rest of season three.
The spy Twilight has played a crucial role in preventing all-out war between Westalis and Ostania, secretly working to maintain peace. This is actually why the Forger family was created – Loid needed a wife and daughter to help him get close to his target. Throughout the anime, Loid’s past has remained a secret, leaving viewers curious about what shaped him into the skilled spy he is. It appears fans are about to learn more about his history, for better or worse.
Loid’s Origin Story
Loid Forger has a deeply sad past, arguably one of the most emotional stories in *Spy x Family*. As a spy for Westalis, he’s driven by a desire to prevent the tragedies that happened to his family during the Second East-West War. Given his difficult upbringing, it seems surprising that he’d want a family, but Anya and Yor are slowly starting to soften him. Though Twilight and Yor (the Thorn Princess) are still keeping secrets from each other, Anya is aware of both of their hidden identities because of her telepathy.
So far, the third season of the anime has released two episodes and appears to be adapting a significant portion of the manga. We can expect to see story arcs like the Friendship Arc, Red Circus Arc, and Mole Hunt Arc in this season. While a fourth season hasn’t been officially announced, there’s still a lot of content from the manga that hasn’t been covered. With popular series like *My Hero Academia* and *Jujutsu Kaisen* recently finishing, and others like *One Piece* and *Black Clover* nearing their conclusions, *Spy x Family* has an opportunity to become a leading title. Thankfully, the author, Tatsuya Endo, hasn’t indicated that the series will end soon, which means fans can likely look forward to many more years of Forger family adventures.
