Sony has refreshed its Welcome Back feature with two new animated backgrounds inspired by highly anticipated games coming in 2025.
You can now personalize your system’s hub screen with animated wallpapers from Battlefield 6 and NBA 2K26. Choose a military theme with Battlefield 6, or a sports vibe with NBA 2K26 – it’s up to you!
Okay, so these new wallpapers only change what you see on the Welcome Back screen, but honestly, they look pretty good. I’m really digging the Battlefield 6 one – it’s got these cool airplane silhouettes in the background that just look awesome.
PlayStation fans have wanted customizable themes for years, but it doesn’t seem like Sony plans to bring them back. While Sony says each game’s unique wallpaper is enough, many players aren’t satisfied with that solution.
To celebrate the format’s 30th anniversary, the company briefly tried out user interfaces reminiscent of older consoles. These proved popular with fans and have now been made a permanent feature. We hope the user interface for the PS6 will offer even more ways to personalize the experience than what’s currently available.
