Despite being released during the COVID-19 pandemic – when Warner Bros. simultaneously released all its 2021 films on streaming and in theaters – the first *Mortal Kombat* movie still earned a solid $84.4 million at the box office. This is particularly impressive because fans had the option to watch it at home.
