Anime is known for epic battles and supernatural adventures, but there’s also a strong and popular tradition of romance. Beloved series like *Your Lie in April*, *Yuri On Ice*, *My Happy Marriage*, and *Ouran High School Host Club* continue to attract fans, and romantic anime films such as *Your Name*, *Suzume*, *A Silent Voice*, and *5 Centimeters Per Second* have been both critically acclaimed and commercially successful. Now, fans have even more to look forward to – one of the biggest romance anime of recent years just announced a third season!
With its funny title, the anime *The 100 Girlfriends Who Really, Really, Really, Really, Really Love You* has become popular since its release in 2023. The show, adapted from a manga by Rikito Namakura and Yukiko Nozawa, centers around Rentaro Aijo, who wishes for a girlfriend in high school. His wish is granted, but in a surprising twist – one hundred girls fall in love with him! A third season is confirmed to be coming next year, following the airing of the second season earlier this year, and a new preview has been released to give fans a sneak peek.

That’s A Lot Of Girlfriends
The third season of *The 100 Girlfriends Who Really, Really, Really, Really Really Love You* has a lot of source material to work with. The original manga began in 2019 and is still being published, with no end date announced. Since Rentaro hasn’t met all of his potential love interests yet, the story can continue to develop the romantic relationships and humorous, uncomfortable situations he finds himself in.
If you want to catch up on this romance anime before the third season lands next year, both seasons are available to stream on Crunchyroll. Here’s how the streaming service describes the series: “Rentaro Aijo was rejected 100 times in middle school. He visits a shrine and prays for better luck in high school. The God of Love appears and promises that he’ll soon meet 100 people he’s destined to date. But there’s a catch—once destiny introduces someone to him, the two must happily love each other. If they don’t, they’ll die. What will befall Rentaro and his 100 girlfriends in high school?” Luckily, the third season will not only see Birbury Animation Studios return to the anime adaptation, but the original voice cast as well, with new girlfriends sure to bring in new voice actors as well.
Excited about the possibility of a third season of *The 100 Girlfriends Who Really, Really, Really, Really Love You*? Share your thoughts in the comments and join the discussion on the ComicBook Forum!
