Prime Week has expanded from being a single day to an entire week. So instead of having just one day filled with savings, we now enjoy an entire week of discounts. Originally, it had been extended beyond a day for some time, but they no longer refer to it as just a day.
This leads us to my initial offer during the celebrations – the Amazon Fire HD 10 tablet, currently at its all-time lowest price for this week.
When Panos Panay shifted from Microsoft to Amazon, it was clear he would infuse the same passion and determination into Amazon’s product lineup. Upon examining the latest iterations of Amazon’s Fire tablets, which I must admit I hadn’t explored for quite some time, it’s evident that Panos’ and other former Surface team member Ralf Groene’s ideas are clearly embedded within them.
Both devices have adopted ink support, featuring a pressure sensitivity similar to that of the Surface Pro (4096 levels). The Fire Max 11 boasts an aluminum casing reminiscent of the Surface, and offers optional keyboard and stylus add-ons, much like our cherished Surface.
A spec breakdown between the two tablets is as follows.

As a tech enthusiast, I must say, these devices outshine the Fire tablets from my past, which barely managed to keep a heavy website running smoothly, let alone handle something as demanding as Roblox. Surprisingly, the Max 11 boasts its gaming prowess on Amazon’s store pages, seamlessly playing games like Minecraft without breaking a sweat.
As an analyst, I’d like to draw your attention to these tablets. They feature a lock screen ad system that can’t be turned off through conventional means. However, there’s an option to receive ads, which will provide you with the greatest savings on the tablets. If you prefer not to have ads, there will be an additional charge added at checkout. For your convenience, I’ve provided links above to the store pages where you can make an informed decision based on your preference.
One potential drawback of these tablets is that they don’t have Google Play pre-installed. While there are methods to install it on the tablet, if you prefer not to deal with such technicalities, your app options will essentially be limited to what’s available in the Amazon App Store.
It’s great that when services are absent, there are numerous web applications to fill in some of those features. For instance, platforms such as Instagram can be acquired through these means. In terms of apps like Xbox Cloud Gaming, native experiences aren’t available, instead directing you to Xbox.com/play for access. Both tablets are compatible with Xbox controllers via Bluetooth or USB-C, but the positioning of the ports can make them somewhat difficult to use with Xbox Cloud Gaming controllers, such as the Razer Kishi and so on.
While they might not be the top-tier tablets globally, their affordability makes them a strong choice for casual entertainment, social media, gaming, and general use. In comparison to similar offerings from Samsung and Apple, they are significantly more budget-friendly. If all you require is Kindle reading, Netflix streaming, and light browsing, I’d say this Prime Day deal offers the best value for your money.
It could be a great gift for a loved one, or indeed yourself, if you’re big into books or comics.
