I’m so excited! It feels like a dream come true because Kristin Cavallari is finally sharing all the details about the Laguna Beach: The Real O.C. cast getting back together. It’s like the rain washing everything fresh and bringing our old high school fantasies back to life!
The reality TV star said she had a great time filming the Laguna Beach reunion on the October 21st episode of her Let’s Be Honest podcast. While she wasn’t sure how much she could reveal about the reunion, which will be available to stream next spring, she admitted it was a really helpful experience. Surprisingly, she confessed she wasn’t initially eager to participate.
Despite everything, she didn’t want to lose touch with her friends from high school. She even clarified that she and Lauren Conrad are still friends, especially after posting a picture with the caption, “Now everyone can stop choosing sides!”
For the founder of Uncommon James, based in Nashville, it was simply a pleasant way to wrap things up after her time on Laguna Beach.
So, let’s go back, back to the beginning.
Back in 2004, MTV producers visited a high school in Southern California looking for a group of engaging teenagers. They wanted to create a reality TV show, similar to the popular drama The O.C, that would follow the teens’ real lives.
In 2014, Christina Sinclair (formerly Schuller) told Time magazine about a surprising announcement during class: MTV was holding auditions for a reality show in Laguna Beach. She remembered thinking, ‘For an 18-year-old, that’s a dream!’ It felt like something out of Grease – the chance to be on national television was just too exciting to pass up.
When producers discovered the bubbly and honest Cavallari, her handsome senior boyfriend Stephen Colletti, and his close friend Conrad – who secretly liked Cavallari – a network executive realized they’d found the perfect cast for a show.
On September 28, 2004, the show Laguna Beach premiered, immediately drawing in around 3 million viewers. It followed the lives of affluent teenagers and paved the way for the reality TV stars we know today.
And safe to say the cast knows what they did.
Lo Bosworth, Talan Torriero, Trey Phillips, Dieter Schmitz, Jessica Smith, Alex Hooser, and Sinclair will be joining Kristin Cavallari, Stephen Colletti, and Lauren Conrad in a new Roku special coming out in 2026.
Put on some Hilary Duff, grab your favorite white dress, and let’s see what your old MTV favorites have been up to over the past twenty years! People change and grow, but there’s something special about those friends you can always rely on.
It’s funny to recall when Teen Vogue‘s Lisa Love told Lauren Conrad she’d forever be known as the girl who missed the Paris trip – a line originally spoken by Vogue‘s Anna Wintour, as discovered in a 2019 look back at The Hills.
Over a decade since that controversial choice and her breakup with Jason Wahler, Lauren has achieved much more. She’s a New York Times bestselling author, co-founder of The Little Market, which supports female artisans globally, and a successful fashion designer, with her Kohl’s line being just the beginning of her lifestyle brand.
She’s moved on from the drama of her younger days, marrying musician and lawyer William Tell in a beautiful 2014 wedding. They now have two sons: Liam James Tell and Charlie Wolf Tell, born in October 2019.
Known for her outspoken personality, Kristin Cavallari has successfully transitioned from reality television to entrepreneurship. Her lifestyle brand, Uncommon James, will open its fourth retail store in Charleston in 2024, adding to her already expanding business which includes a shoe line with Chinese Laundry and three published cookbooks.
Over the course of ten years, she and former NFL quarterback Jay Cutler raised three children – sons Camden Jack and Jaxon Wyatt, and daughter Saylor James – before their divorce in April 2020.
After ending a relationship with Mark Estes of Montana Boyz in September 2024, Cavallari is now navigating the dating world. In a 2023 interview with TopMob News, she shared, “I’ve gone on a lot of dates in the last few years,” but explained she’s not necessarily picky, just short on time for anything superficial.
Jason Wahler, known for his rebellious behavior on reality shows like Laguna Beach and The Hills, faced numerous challenges after his time on television, including struggles with drugs, DUIs, and legal issues. He finally got help by appearing on Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew Pinsky.
Jason later married Ashley Slack, and credits her with helping him maintain a sober life. Together, they have three children: daughter Delilah Ray (born August 2017), son Wyatt Ragle (born June 2021), and son August Robert (born May 2025). As the founder of Widespread Recovery, Jason openly shares his journey with addiction, both on The Hills: New Beginnings and through his YouTube series, JAWS Diaries with Jason & Ashley Wahler.
Now living in Nashville, Jason has reconnected with Kristen, describing her as a close and supportive friend. He explained that they grew apart while pursuing their own lives – he battled addiction, and she focused on raising her family – but they’ve since rebuilt their friendship.
After fueling fan fiction about a love triangle with Kristin and Stephen, actor Laguna is now concentrating on his acting career. He appeared on The CW’s One Tree Hill for five seasons and played Taylor Swift’s love interest in her “White Horse” music video. He also briefly worked as a VJ on the original Total Request Live on MTV. More recently, he starred in the 2018 TV movie Hometown Christmas and Hulu’s Everyone Is Doing Great alongside his former One Tree Hill co-star James Lafferty.
As for his relationship with podcast co-host Kristin, it’s over. Stephen proposed to NASCAR reporter Alex Weaver in November 2023. He told TopMob News in 2024 that they’re enjoying being engaged while also planning the details of their wedding.
The newlyweds chose a simple and elegant way to announce their marriage, sharing a photo on Instagram with the caption “Mr. & Mrs.” on October 3, 2025.
For years, Lauren Conrad made it clear she didn’t want to revisit her time on The Hills. She recalled emphatically telling an executive, “Absolutely not!” and wanting no connection to anyone from the show, stating she craved distance from that part of her life.
After changing careers and moving to New York City, where she graduated from The International Culinary Center and authored The Lo-Down, she founded Love Wellness, a personal care line for women, in 2016.
In 2024, she explained that while she isn’t in constant contact with many of her former castmates, that’s not unusual after two decades. She maintains friendly relationships with everyone and would happily reconnect if she saw them.
Lauren has found happiness in her personal life as well, marrying businessman Domenic “Dom” Natale in a small Laguna Beach wedding in July 2025. They are expecting their first child in 2026.
She shared with TopMob that she’s achieved the life she always wanted and is focused on maintaining her happiness, health, family, and strong relationships with loved ones.
Before marrying Danielle Torriero, actor Talan Torriero was known for short-term relationships with celebrities like Kimberly Stewart and Nicole Scherzinger. He met Danielle at a Los Angeles bar on her 21st birthday in 2009, and they eventually settled down together.
The couple moved from California to Danielle’s home state of Nebraska, where they’re building a house on nearly an acre of land. They married in June 2014 and have three children: Bronson, born in October 2017, Hudson, born in December 2020, and Anderson Tito, born in June 2023.
Talan recalls being immediately struck by Danielle when they first met. He admitted he didn’t know anything about Nebraska at the time, but now, 14 years later, he’s happily living there with his family.
That first runway show was just the beginning for Trey. After leaving Laguna, he moved to New York City to study fashion design and renewable energy at Parsons School of Design, graduating in 2010. He stayed in New York, working as an associate designer for Vera Wang, and also spent time in London.
In 2023, he launched Motion Illustrated, sharing on his website that after years of designing for major fashion brands, he was ready to share his own style. He generally keeps a low profile on social media, but occasionally shares photos of his partner, Kasumi.
Lauren and Stephen’s close friend pursued his passion for hospitality and now works as the general manager of the Sofitel New York, leaving his life at the beach behind.
He remains close to his high school friends, including Lauren, Stephen, Trey, and Loren Polster, all of whom attended his wedding in Monterey, California, in 2016 to Isabell Hiebl. The couple, who consider Austria a second home, welcomed their son, Nico Josef Schmitz, in September 2018, and their daughter, Leni, in March 2023.
Since leaving Laguna Beach, KCav’s friend has largely avoided reality TV. After a brief period of public attention due to a 2007 DUI, she built a quiet life in Texas with her husband, Michael Evans, whom she describes as incredibly kind and loving, and their four children. She now focuses on family and occasionally shares updates on her blog and Amazon shop, jokingly saying she spends most of her time just trying to keep track of her kids.
Remember Alex and Jessica competing for Jason’s affection? That’s all in the past! Alex married Kyle Johnson in 2014, with Morgan Olson, Alex H., and Taylor Cole as bridesmaids. They now have three sons: Levi (born in 2016), Kase (born in 2018), and Rome (born in April 2021). Alex used her communications degree from Chapman University to co-found MOX Agency, a social media marketing company, in 2014.
When Morgan joined MTV in 2004, she wasn’t aiming for fame. She simply wanted to document her high school years with friends, as she explained to Time magazine. She also remained focused on her personal goal of finding a Mormon husband and starting a family.
After graduating from Brigham Young University in 2008 with a degree in humanities and journalism, she married Joel Smith two years later. She shared that she pursued the life she always wanted – finishing college, traveling, getting married, and building a career, first in New York and then in Los Angeles – regardless of her TV show success. Now living in South Carolina, where she recently opened a showroom in Charleston, she’s a mother to Theo, Georgia, and Julian, and runs her Minnow Swim brand.
Casey wasn’t one of the original stars of Laguna Beach, but she definitely made an impact when she joined the show. Since then, she’s become a successful baker, opening Casey’s Cupcakes in Orange County and even winning Food Network’s Cupcake Wars in 2011.
Her personal life is equally happy. She’s been married to Sean Brown (who is related to the late Nicole Brown Simpson) since August 2015, and they have three children: daughter Kensington, and sons Sean Brown Jr. and Conrad.
Just under three years after attending Taylor’s wedding in October 2015, where she stood up for real estate investor Kevin Simshauser, Taylor and a friend both became pregnant about eight weeks apart. She welcomed her daughter, Tatum, in September 2018, followed by sons Cole in January 2020 and Olson in August 2022. As the founder of Taylor Cole Holistic Nutrition, she also shares glimpses into her life on Instagram.
