Okay, so everyone’s getting all nostalgic for the old days of the internet, which is cool. But honestly, if you didn’t grow up online back in the early 2000s, I don’t think you’re going to get VIDEOVERSE the way I do. It’s just a different feeling when you experienced that era firsthand.
This game clearly takes inspiration from the first social networks, like MySpace and AIM, and offers a story-driven experience that looks at how our sense of self connects with technology and each other.
The story takes place in a reimagined 2003, where the Kinmoku Shark was the dominant video game console.

You’ll take on the role of Emmett, exploring lively online communities. As you interact with other players, you’ll uncover the hidden secrets behind the popular Kinmoku Shark console.
This game is a visual novel similar to Needy Streamer Overload, featuring a distinctive retro art style with 1-bit graphics. Your choices matter and will directly shape the story’s ending.
I’ve been hearing amazing things about this game on PC – it’s currently sitting at a 90 on Metacritic, which is seriously impressive. It’s dropping on PS5 and PS4 on November 14th, and honestly, if the story or setting sounds cool to you, it might be worth checking out!
