In ARC Raiders, the “Out of the Shadows” quest asks you to destroy a Rocketeer. This enemy is challenging, so you’ll need to prepare carefully. This guide provides helpful tips and tricks to help you defeat it.
Gearing Up
You’re going to need a large supply of powerful ammunition. Fill your inventory completely, and keep extra rounds in your safe pocket as a backup. Don’t forget to bring grenades – they’re great for dealing extra damage when you’re facing large groups of enemies.
Wolfpacks can be useful in this situation, as they’re very strong. However, many players choose to reserve them for the Queen, because that approach allows you to win without using your most powerful units. Of course, you’re also free to save Wolfpacks for other tough enemies if you prefer.
Head to the Testing Annex
After gathering your equipment, go to the Testing Annex building on the Dam Battlegrouds map. Make your way to the top floor by following the main path. You’ll need to defeat the ARC units and turrets in the area to secure the location and get ready for combat.
Once the upstairs is secure, head out onto the balcony and scan for the Rocketeer. This top floor acts as a safe zone, giving you good cover while still letting you attack. It’s a great spot to fight the Rocketeer from, as they’ll have difficulty hitting you there.
How to Defeat the Rocketeer Easily
After you find the Rocketeer, shoot it to pull it closer. Then, use a shoot-and-peek strategy: fire a few shots, hide behind cover, and repeat. Aim for the thrusters or side fans – damaging one side will make it unstable.
The Rocketeer is a tough enemy and will take a while to defeat. Once you’ve won, be sure to grab the Rocketeer Driver – that’s the key item you need for the quest! Put it somewhere safe, like your Safe Pocket. You can also find crafting materials inside the thrusters if you have room in your inventory.
The Testing Annex is helpfully located near an extraction point, making it easy to leave with your loot. If you’re concerned about encountering enemies, you can also bring a Hatch Extraction Key.

Okay, so I just finished the Out of the Shadows quest in ARC Raiders, and wanted to share what worked best for me! This is seriously the fastest way to take down the Rocketeer and grab all the good stuff it drops. Trust me, you’ll get some awesome gear and materials if you follow this guide.
