Jon M. Chu’s Baby Girl Makes Red Carpet Debut at Wicked 2 Premiere

Jon M. Chu‘s family is wickedly adorable.

The director of Wicked attended the New York City premiere of his latest film, Wicked: For Good, with his wife, Kristin Hodge, and their five children on November 17th. The couple’s kids—Willow, 8, Jonathan Heights, 6, Ruby, 4, Iggy, 2, and Stevie Sky, 12 months—joined them for the event, just over a year after the family welcomed their fifth child.

At the event, John stayed warm wearing a gray wool coat and a black scarf. Kristin looked stylish in a black and white strapless dress, completing her outfit with a sparkling diamond necklace and an elegant updo hairstyle.

The couple, married since 2018, dressed their children in adorable matching outfits. Their sons, Jonathan and Iggy, wore teal suits with black shirts, while their daughters, Willow, Ruby, and Stevie Sky, looked like princesses in pink tulle skirts and white sweaters.

This is the first time the family of seven has attended a red carpet event together for Wicked. The director of Crazy Rich Asians wasn’t able to attend the premiere of the first movie because his wife was in labor with their youngest child.

Jon expressed his disbelief that this was happening during the movie’s premiere. In a pre-recorded message announcing Stevie Sky’s arrival at the November 2024 premiere, he said, ‘There’s something magical happening tonight. Welcome to our world, and I know you’re going to be amazing – you’ve got a lot of support!’

The 46-year-old also explained how suddenly he had to miss the first showing of Wicked.

He explained that he’d been waiting at the hotel nearby, eager to join everyone. His whole family, along with all their friends and loved ones, were already there. He shared that he’d been anticipating this moment – sharing their movie with the audience – for three years, but really, he’d been waiting his entire life, especially for the arrival of their fifth child, which was happening right then.
