Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka are dancing through life with their daughter.
Harper, age 15, had a special night attending the New York City premiere of Wicked: For Good with her dad, David, on November 17th. She handled the exciting event like a mature young woman, even though her twin brother, Gideon, wasn’t able to join them.
Harper turned heads in a shimmering, light green dress that hit at her ankles. She stayed warm in the chilly New York City night with heels and a black fur coat. David looked equally sharp in black dress pants and a white shirt, finished off with a stylish, iridescent tuxedo jacket.
Although Harper and Gideon are relatively private, their fathers have always happily and publicly shared how proud they are of their twin children.
Neil, 52, shared on Instagram last year how incredibly proud he is of his two children on their birthday. He wrote that he and his husband, David, are amazed by how mature, warm, and charming they are. He expressed their unconditional love and how much joy their hugs bring them.
He added with a laugh, “I wouldn’t tell them any of this, of course – they’d either be upset or use it against us. Luckily, they aren’t on Instagram, so I can be honest without them ever knowing.”
David, 50, has also reflected on what it’s been like to see his children grow up before his eyes
In 2022, David told TopMob News that he was deeply saddened by his children growing up and becoming independent. He described it as a kind of mourning – a sadness about watching them spread their wings and become their own people.
The Broadway star shared, “It’s incredible to see how much the children have grown up. It’s wonderful, but also a bit bittersweet.”
