Michael C. Hall’s Brainiac Would Be the Perfect Choice for Man of Tomorrow
Michael C. Hall, at 54, brings the right level of maturity and experience to play a compelling supervillain alongside the younger Superman and Lex Luthor actors. Brainiac, a classic DC Comics villain debuting in 1958, is an ideal foe to unite these heroes, as his global threat would affect them both. Hall’s ability to portray cold, calculating intelligence, as seen in his role as Dexter Morgan, would make him a fantastic Brainiac.
As a huge DC fan, I’m really excited about the possibility of Michael C. Hall playing Brainiac! He’s already worked with DC before – he did a fantastic job voicing Man-Bat in a Justice League animated series and movie. Brainiac would be a totally different kind of role for him, but I think he’d absolutely nail it. Honestly, it feels like a great move for Hall, too. He’s been so well-known as Dexter for years, even with the recent spin-offs, and this could really launch him into something new within the DC Universe.
Considering how important Brainiac is in DC Comics, it’s surprising he hasn’t been in a live-action Superman film until now. The upcoming Man of Tomorrow movie will finally address this, but DC Studios needs to find the right actor. They need someone who can play Brainiac as both cold and intimidating, yet also captivating and well-known. Brainiac is a truly frightening villain – he shrinks cities to expand his knowledge and power – and his history could be personally connected to Superman, potentially having already destroyed Krypton’s city of Kandor.
