Tess Daly was asked about the possibility of returning to host a potential All-Stars version of Strictly Come Dancing.
The popular BBC One show is losing its longtime host after more than 20 years. She announced her departure along with her co-host, Claudia Winkleman, and shared a touching message with viewers.
This Sunday, viewers will see a special performance on the Blackpool show from November 22nd, 2025, featuring returning stars and past winners.
While seated between past contestants Jay McGuiness, from the band The Wanted, and actor Layton Williams, Tess was asked about her plans for the future of Strictly Come Dancing.
Tess mentioned Jay would be performing his famous dance from Pulp Fiction again, and Jay responded by saying he constantly reminds himself how fortunate everyone is to be part of the show. He added that they all feel grateful to have been asked back.

He then followed up by asking, ‘Tess, if they ever did a Strictly All Stars special, would you be interested in returning one last time?’
Tess initially turned to Layton before both men made clear they meant her.
She laughed, surprised: “Who? Me? I’m not a dancer!”
Layton then added with a wink: “Neither am I, Tess, neither am I.”
Tess then responded: “Yes, you are!”
She then added: ‘It’s a lovely idea, I like that.”

Naturally, fans of the show quickly reacted to the idea of an All-Star series on social media.
A fan on X (formerly Twitter) enthusiastically urged the show Strictly Come Dancing to bring back past contestants, writing, “Jay mentioning Strictly All Stars!!! HAS TO HAPPEN!!!!! #strictly @bbcone DO IT PLZ!”
Someone else expressed their support online, writing: “I really hope Jay’s idea for ‘All Stars’ happens! #strictly”
Meanwhile, a different viewer mused: “Strictly all stars would be interesting”
One person suggested bringing back past winners for a new season of “Strictly All Stars,” suggesting a break for the current format and a return of the show’s most talented contestants.
I just heard some news about “La Voix” – unfortunately, they’ve had to pull out of the 2025 competition due to health reasons. It’s a real shame, but it does mean something good for the remaining contestants: no one will be eliminated during the Blackpool shows, which is a nice change!
Strictly Come Dancing continues on Saturday 21st November at 6:35pm on BBC One and iPlayer.
