Spider-Man has faced many iconic villains like Green Goblin, Doctor Octopus, Venom, Sandman, Hobgoblin, Electro, and Lizard – and we’ve seen most of them in the movies. But there are still plenty of Spidey foes who haven’t made it to the big screen yet. With more Spider-Man films likely on the way, Marvel could introduce new villains for years to come without revisiting old ones. This list focuses on those villains – the ones who haven’t appeared in a Marvel movie, including those outside the Spider-Man films. That means you won’t see characters like Kraven the Hunter or Chameleon (who were in the Kraven the Hunter film), Morbius, or Kingpin (who was in the Daredevil movie, and is expected to appear in future MCU projects).
Since characters from the Spider-Verse animated films weren’t included, we don’t see the Spot or Prowler listed. So, which villains would be completely new to the Marvel Cinematic Universe? Let’s take a look.
7) Living Brain

First appearing in The Amazing Spider-Man #8 way back in 1964, the Living Brain is a classic villain who’s been part of Spider-Man’s history for decades. Surprisingly, he’s never made an appearance – or even been referenced – in any of the Spider-Man movies.
Dr. Petty at International Computing Machines Corporation designed the Living Brain as a universal question-answering machine. But when thieves attempt to steal it, a struggle damages the control panel, causing a malfunction. Given current anxieties about AI, a robot capable of answering anything – especially one with flight, super strength, and the ability to exploit weaknesses – would be a compelling villain, perhaps even a strong secondary one.
6) Gog

Gog is an alien creature and a helper to Kraven the Hunter, who rapidly grew from a young size to a huge one. While it might be too early to feature Kraven the Hunter as the main character in another movie—the recent film wasn’t well-received—he could be a compelling villainous sidekick for a different hero, particularly one who is not from Earth.
Gog often teams up with famous villains, but he’s also an inventor – he even built a device to learn English! This suggests he could be a compelling main villain in a movie, rather than just a monstrous sidekick. Plus, his teleportation bracelets, which he invented, could lead to a really exciting action sequence.
5) Mister Negative

While Mister Negative has appeared in the Ultimate Spider-Man cartoon, the highly-rated Spider-Man games on Playstation 4 and 5, and Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur, he hasn’t made an appearance in a Marvel movie yet. However, it seems likely that will change in the future.
Mister Negative started as a gangster captured by Silvermane and used as a test subject in a dangerous experiment. This experiment gave him control over both dark and light energies, but it also caused him to develop two distinct personalities. One side is Martin Li, a kind philanthropist known as Mister Positive, who created the F.E.A.S.T. Project (where Aunt May works in the video games). The other side is the angry and powerful Mister Negative, who possesses superhuman strength and can control others, turning them into his mindless followers. Great Spider-Man villains often struggle with internal conflict, and Mister Negative’s dual nature would make him an excellent addition to the big screen.
4) Silvermane

Silvio Manfredi, known to the world as Silvermane, is a notorious and respected criminal who sought eternal life through a special potion. Unfortunately, the potion had the opposite effect, causing him to age at an accelerated rate. Instead of continuing down that path, he chose to become a cyborg in his quest for immortality.
After becoming a cyborg, Silvermane became a physically skilled fighter, able to go toe-to-toe with Spider-Man’s agility and combat prowess. He’s also highly intelligent, making him a mental match for Peter Parker. Combined with his boosted strength, speed, endurance, and resilience, Silvermane is a very dangerous opponent. Plus, as a powerful crime boss, he has a large network of criminals that Spider-Man would have to face.
3) Professor Mendel Stromm

Professor Mendel Stromm, also known as Robot Master or Gaunt, could be a more compelling cyborg villain for Spider-Man than Silvermane. It’s worth noting he’s already appeared in Sam Raimi’s first Spider-Man movie, but it was a brief cameo. He was simply Norman Osborn’s associate, who Osborn famously killed by throwing him through a window.
If the Marvel Cinematic Universe ever introduces a version of Norman Osborn that isn’t played by Willem Dafoe, the character of Stromm would be a fantastic addition. In the comics, Stromm collaborated with Osborn on creating the Goblin serum, but also stole money from Oscorp. Osborn reported him to the police, and after serving time, Stromm sought revenge. He built an army of dangerous robots, and then, faking a heart attack, transferred his consciousness into a robotic body.
2) Molten Man

Just a quick note: Mysterio featured a character resembling Molten Man in Spider-Man: Far From Home, but that was part of an illusion—a holographic projection, not the real person. The true Molten Man, whose alter ego is Mark Raxton, hasn’t actually appeared in any Marvel films yet.
Like Sandman and Electro, Raxton gained his powers through an accident. The filmmakers might want to avoid this origin story, as Spider-Man: No Way Home already poked fun at it, but they’ll likely find a way to make it work. Regardless, Raxton is significantly stronger than the Molten Man seen in Far From Home – his strength isn’t just shown through flying drones. Plus, Raxton is much more intelligent than his movie counterpart, making him a more formidable villain.
1) Carrion

Carrion has appeared in several forms, but the core idea always involves cloning – and a striking similarity to the Green Goblin. The original Carrion was created from Miles Warren, also known as the Jackal. Warren was fixated on Gwen Stacy, and blamed Spider-Man for her death, leading him to create Carrion.
This version of the story feels like the strongest choice. With Peter Parker having erased everyone’s memories, a romance with Gwen Stacy feels natural, though her character often doesn’t have a lasting presence. Instead of the Green Goblin, the story could feature the Jackal, with Gwen tragically dying during a confrontation between Spider-Man and him. To add another layer, Jackal could clone himself as a backup plan if he were to be defeated, creating a compelling two-part movie that could extend the success of the franchise.
Look, I love the Green Goblin, but honestly, that character’s been done a lot. I think it’d be cool to introduce a new, equally unsettling green villain – something to keep things fresh. But then there’s Carrion… now he would be terrifying. Just picturing his decaying body is creepy enough, but the really scary part is why Warren created him: to spread disease. He’s got this virus that lets him kill with just a touch! Seriously, that makes him a uniquely dangerous Spider-Man villain, and a truly frightening adversary.
