Through the detailed State of Play presentation, we’ve gained a more comprehensive insight into Ghost of Yotei‘s objectives, whether viewed from a sequel standpoint or as a contemporary open-world experience.
In a broad overview, the approximately 20-minute showcase provided a comprehensive glimpse into various gameplay aspects and mechanisms of this upcoming PS5 exclusive. From our perspective, it appears exceptionally promising; however, we’d love to hear your take on it too!
In a sense that might seem quite apparent, Sucker Punch appears to be extending the Ghost of Tsushima universe with this new installment. The elements we’ve been introduced to thus far essentially amplify what Jin’s journey encompassed, whether it’s storytelling and exploration, combat systems, or character development.

However, for some individuals, this might not spark much excitement as Yotei appears to build upon an established structure rather than revolutionizing the concept of open-world games or deviating significantly from what made Tsushima so successful. Instead, it seems to be more about refinement and evolution, not reinvention.
After wrapping up the State of Play and confirming that Ghost of Yotei will drop on October 2nd, Let’s talk gaming!
