Prime Video’s hit series The Boys is coming to an end with its fifth season. Karl Urban will return as Billy Butcher for one last battle against the incredibly powerful Homelander (Antony Starr). After the dramatic events of Season 4, which left America under Homelander’s control, the show has released a first look at the final season, and it promises to be as violent and shocking as fans expect – in other words, incredibly bloody. That’s just the way The Boys always delivers.
A new trailer for Season 5 of The Boys debuted at CCXP in Brazil on Saturday, showing Butcher rallying his team for what looks like a desperate, all-or-nothing battle. He declares, “You wouldn’t be the first throwing your life away in a war, but you would be the first saving the world doing it.” The trailer also revealed the season will premiere on April 8, 2026. Plus, fans got a sneak peek at a highly anticipated reunion between Supernatural stars Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles. Ackles will return as Soldier Boy, while Padalecki’s role is currently a secret.
Things Are Going to Get Crazy in The Boys’ Final Season. Who Will Come Out Alive?
Season 5 of The Boys promises to be absolutely wild. The season will focus on Homelander and his unpredictable, self-centered behavior. We’ll see Hughie, Mother’s Milk, and Frenchie held captive, while Starlight tries to fight back against the powerful Supes. Kimiko is missing, but the return of Butcher, with a dangerous virus that could eliminate all Supes, will kick off a series of events that will change everything. Get ready for the epic finale – it’s going to be huge!
The new trailer shows some incredibly intense scenes, including Homelander violently attacking someone, which raises the question of who will survive Season 5 – if anyone. It’s entirely possible that no one will. With the incredibly high stakes of this season, it feels like the final confrontation with Homelander is a do-or-die situation. Karl Urban has hinted that Season 5 will be painful and full of risks from the very beginning, so viewers shouldn’t get too attached to any characters as the show builds toward what promises to be a shocking finale.
