The first season of Beef was a hit with both critics and audiences, known for its wild and chaotic storyline. It followed two strangers (Ali Wong and Steven Yeun) whose lives spiraled out of control after a simple road-rage incident. The second season shifts gears, focusing on a more subtle, but equally damaging, conflict within a workplace. It explores how two couples turn against each other – and themselves – through manipulative behavior. According to creator Lee Sung Jin, this change was intentional. He wanted Season 2 to be the opposite of Season 1’s explosive energy, reflecting the more common, undercurrent of passive-aggression found in real life, especially at work.
