According to a source at Pixar, the studio scrapped a film called Be Fri after years of development. One insider described Pixar as lacking courage, while others stated Disney cancelled the project because they believed young boys wouldn’t be able to relate to the story. Essentially, Disney didn’t want to release a movie focused on female empowerment.
Developer Hamster recently surprised fans by releasing Console Archives Seicross – a new version of the classic Seicross game – for both Nintendo Switch 2 and PS5. This updated version of the original NES shoot ’em up hasn’t been made available on Switch, PS4, PC, or any Xbox consoles, and there are currently no plans to change that.

Many people still remember how surprisingly dark some classic 80s animated movies like All Dogs Go to Heaven and The Brave Little Toaster were. However, the decade actually produced a lot more animated films that have been largely forgotten. Some were made with very little money, while others were poorly handled by the companies releasing them. Because of this, many truly excellent stories haven’t found the audience they deserve.
I saw this crazy clip from ARC Raiders the other day, and it really got to me. Basically, one player was super upset that another one had just killed him in the game, and his reaction was just awful. He started with regular trash talk, but it quickly turned really personal and even threatening! Honestly, as someone who plays online, you see stuff like this all the time, but this clip showed how quickly things can escalate – it was less than two minutes and it went from annoying to genuinely scary. It just shows how toxic things can get in online gaming sometimes.

Forty-five years ago, “The Dark Phoenix Saga” introduced a female superhero who embraced villainy on a scale never before seen. The story featured Jean Grey, amplified by the Phoenix Force, succumbing to darkness, which led to the destruction of a solar system and the deaths of billions. While the story famously ends with Jean Grey taking her own life, fearing her own power, the original plan by writer Chris Claremont was for her to survive. However, Marvel’s editor-in-chief, Jim Shooter, overruled him. This situation is strikingly similar to the storyline of Scarlet Witch, as Wanda Maximoff’s actions later demonstrated that Shooter’s reasoning for killing Jean Grey wasn’t necessarily correct.
