SEGA Classic Emergency Call Ambulance Comes to PS5, PS4 via Yakuza 3 Remake

The recent Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties presentation didn’t reveal much we didn’t already know. We’ve previously covered the new features, like the orphanage Kazuma Kiryu manages and the motorcycle gang minigames.

The latest trailer reveals two exciting features: the classic 1999 SEGA arcade game, Emergency Call Ambulance, will be playable for the first time on consoles, fully integrated into the remake.

This game was originally planned for the Dreamcast years ago, intended to be released in a bundle with two other titles: Jambo! Safari and Brave Firefighters. Jambo! Safari did eventually come out on the Wii and DS, but this will be the first time players can experience the paramedic game on a home console.

You play as an ambulance driver in Chicago, rushing patients to the hospital.

When someone drives dangerously, your patient’s heart rate will likely increase, and you should be prepared for various unpredictable events while traveling.

This game showcases SEGA at its best, with over-the-top and often hilarious situations. For example, one mission requires you to rush the president to the hospital after their plane is hit by lightning.

On top of everything else, it appears Kiryu will also be able to play a Game Gear in Yakuza Kiwami 3. A quick clip in the trailer showed Sonic the Hedgehog running on the classic handheld console from the 90s.

You’ll be able to play a variety of games on this device, all running through emulation as part of the remake.

The trailer also shows classic Yakuza activities like playing darts, hitting the driving range, and shooting pool. Plus, you can change your character’s outfits and even personalize your smartphone.
