What Is Gremlins: The Wild Batch?
In the sequel to the first season, titled “Gremlins: The Wild Batch,” we find ourselves a year later as Sam and Elle are relocating from Shanghai to San Francisco, embarking on an entirely new and thrilling escapade. Notable voice actors reprising their roles from the initial season include Izaac Wang, Ming-Na Wen, James Hong, BD Wong, AJ LoCascio, Gabrielle Nevaeh, and George Takei. For this second season, we welcome new cast members such as Simu Liu, Michael Paul Chan, Ronny Chieng, Keith David, John Glover who previously appeared in the franchise in “Gremlins 2: The New Batch,” Will Forte, Kelly Hu, and Jimmy O. Yang.
In a consulting role, Joe Dante (director of the original Gremlins) collaborates with Amblin Television and Warner Bros. Animation for the series. Steven Spielberg, along with Amblin Television Presidents Darryl Frank and Justin Falvey, as well as Sam Register from both Warner Bros. Meanwhile, the star of “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings,” Simu Liu, is set to appear in the upcoming episodes as Chang – a dashing, irresistibly charming bootlegger who hails from one of San Francisco’s most influential and powerful Chinese families.
Under the belief he’s deceased by his family, and involving some mysterious occult events, Chang encounters Sam and Elle, acting as their guide across America on a quest to reach Chinatown. The inaugural season of this series expanded the Gremlins universe in an unprecedented manner, distinct from the original movies, and sneak peeks at Season 2 hint that the storyline will only grow larger as these characters embark on a fresh, ominous journey through America.
