My gaming chair finally broke down in the summer of 2025 after years of use. Luckily, E-WIN offered me a chance to try out one of their newest ‘Champion Upgraded’ chairs in early November. However, with Black Friday taking up the entire month, I didn’t have time to write a review until now.
Spending extra time with this gaming chair allowed me to thoroughly test it, and unfortunately, I can’t recommend it at its $479.99 price point. Even with the memory foam cushion, I found it uncomfortable for extended use and it caused back pain.
Are you considering this gaming chair just for yourself, and is the price attractive? Here’s my review of the E-WIN Champion Upgraded gaming chair.
I received a sample of this product from E-WIN for review. However, E-WIN did not influence the review in any way and hadn’t seen it before it was published.
E-WIN Champion Upgraded: Build quality and assembly

As a researcher, I found assembling the E-WIN Champion chair to be surprisingly straightforward. The included instructions were clear and well-illustrated, and they even provided all the necessary tools. I didn’t encounter any problems during the setup process.
Depending on how strong you are and how much space you have, you might need someone to help you put the chair together, especially if you have trouble moving around.
I was impressed with how well-made this chair feels. The “Brisa Ultra Premium” PU leather is really soft and comfortable, and the aluminum base seems incredibly strong. Even though I weigh over 230 pounds, the chair feels completely stable, no matter how much I adjust the height with the lift. It doesn’t wobble or feel like it’s going to collapse at all.
Just so you know, this chair can safely hold up to 400 pounds. That means gamers who weigh around the same as me, or even a bit more, shouldn’t have any problems with it as long as it’s put together correctly.
E-WIN Champion Upgraded: Comfort, durability, and features

The E-Win Champion Upgraded Chair is designed for maximum comfort, offering a lot of ways to customize how it feels. You can adjust the lumbar support, armrests, backrest (up to 55 degrees), and seat height. It also has a gentle rocking feature that tilts up to 15 degrees.
The chair comes with a magnetic memory foam pillow for your head and a cushion for lower back support. But after adjusting everything, I discovered that the most comfortable parts are actually the armrests – they’re perfectly positioned for keyboard use – and the memory foam head pillow.
After only a few weeks, the lever that adjusts the seat tilt stopped working, and now I can’t get the chair to stop rocking.
The rest of the chair is just too rigid – it feels like sitting against a bare wooden board, even with the leather. Also, the tilt function stopped working after a few weeks, so I can’t stop it from rocking.
Honestly, my chair has gotten so wobbly that it’s just not comfortable to sit in anymore. I’ve ended up having to perch on the edge to keep it from tipping backwards – apparently, this is a pretty common problem with E-Win chairs, as my friend Jez Corden mentioned when he reviewed the Flash XL model.

The included back pillow felt too thin and didn’t provide enough support, so I ended up using one of my regular bed pillows instead, though it wasn’t a perfect fix. This is especially frustrating because our Editor-in-Chief, Daniel Rubino, previously reviewed an E-Win Champion Series chair in 2020 and really liked it.
I’m disappointed with this chair, especially since it was advertised as an improvement over previous models. While I don’t have as much experience testing chairs – my first was the fantastic Sihoo M57 – this E-WIN chair doesn’t compare and makes me really miss it.
The extra lumber pillow included with this seat feels too flat and hollow to support my back.
I don’t need to be an expert to know when a chair is uncomfortable. Sitting on something that feels like a hard board causes me significant lower back pain, regardless of how I adjust the back support or seat height.
It’s also really uncomfortable because the rocking function stopped working properly after just a few weeks, forcing me to sit in awkward positions. This makes me worry about how long the chair will last overall, even though the individual pieces seem well-made. I’m concerned other features might break down soon, too.
E-WIN Champion Upgraded: Should you buy it?

✅ You should buy this if:
- You enjoy padded armrests.
- You need a chair that’s easy to assemble.
❌ You should not buy this if:
- You’re over the 400lb weight limit.
- You’re on a strict budget.
- You have issues with back pain.
This chair isn’t worth the $479.99 price tag, especially considering how uncomfortable it is. There are much better and more affordable gaming chairs available, such as the Razer Enki X or the Sihoo M57, which already offer strong competition in the market.
Even if the broken lever was just a problem with my specific chair, the price is still too much for what you get. I can’t recommend it over better gaming chairs that are actually worth the extra money, like the Secretlab TITAN Evo NanoGen or the Razer Iskur V2. Consider saving up for one of those instead.
