My Hero Academia Star Accidentally Spoiled Their Fate Ahead of Final Season

One of the actors from My Hero Academia unintentionally discovered how their character’s story would end before the anime’s final battles. After nearly ten years, the My Hero Academia anime series concluded with a dramatic final season featuring intense fights between heroes and villains. The war resulted in some significant losses for both sides, and one actor learned about their character’s fate by accident, making the experience even more emotional.

ComicBook recently spoke with the English voice actors of My Hero Academia as the anime concludes. Leah Clark, who voices Himiko Toga, shared that she unexpectedly learned about Toga’s fate before recording the final episodes. Despite previously avoiding spoilers, she checked the manga to see if she’d be in the next season and accidentally stumbled upon the ending scene, revealing what would happen to her character.

My Hero Academia’s Toga Spoils Her Fate

Clark explained that she prefers to experience the story as her character does, rather than reading ahead. She only researches what’s necessary for the audition, wanting to be genuinely surprised and react authentically alongside her character, Toga. She finds this immersive process creatively fulfilling and avoids spoilers. In fact, the one time she did peek ahead, it ended up being a negative experience.

Clark explained that because he was a big fan of the series, he’d been casually asking about whether he’d be involved in the next season. Then, while looking up the manga to get a sneak peek, he accidentally stumbled upon a major spoiler – right at the ending! He initially refused to believe it, thinking it must be a joke. “It was awful,” he said, completely shocked by what he’d seen.

Toga’s Ending Still Hurts

Clark vividly recalls a major plot spoiler she accidentally saw, remembering exactly how it happened. “I was up at 4:00 in the morning, unable to sleep, and I started wondering if my character would return for another season. I scrolled online and immediately saw it!” But experiences like this reinforce her decision to avoid reading the original source material, allowing her to develop her performances more organically. “I think it’s better for my acting,” she explains, “I prefer to experience the story alongside my character.”

Toga’s last scenes in My Hero Academia were incredibly emotional, even for the voice actress who played her. She didn’t realize how impactful they were until she watched the finished product. If you’re interested in watching the final season (before the new episodes arrive in 2026), it’s available on Crunchyroll.
